Overview ↑ Back to top
Crisp is a Tumblr-like WordPress theme that allows you to publish snippets of content — images, videos, audio, articles, quotes or links.
It has a custom coded Tumblog publishing form accessible from your WordPress dashboard, with the ability to publish quicker than using the default WordPress post system.
Your posts are then arranged and styled according to the type of content.

After installation and activation, go to Settings > Permalinks and click the “Save Changes” button, even if there have been no changes. This registers the custom taxonomies used in the theme.
The Tumblog taxonomy ↑ Back to top
The Crisp theme has an option in the WordPress admin under the Posts panel called Tumblogs. This functionality allows you to create a different type of post.
Custom taxonomies are useful when developing/customizing themes as you can create custom templates for specific taxonomies, i.e., one for a blog, one for a Tumblog.
The Tumblog taxonomy is different from categories. You can assign a post to certain taxonomies AND categories, so it can be specifically filed in archives.

Once you have set up categories, start using the Tumblog dashboard publishing facility to publish content.
Publishing content is self-explanatory. Click the button of the type of content you wish to publish, then enter the corresponding content. Click Submit to publish.
When you click Advanced Options, an area loads below the editor to set the Post Status, Post Date/Time, assign the post to multiple categories and to multiple Tumblog taxonomies (by default it’s assigned to the Tumblog type). The Dashboard Tumblog widget can be used to draft and post-date posts.
