AutomateWoo has a handy “Custom Function” action. That idea could be taken further for triggers.

A new trigger that can be used to trigger a workflow for any action or filter would make it possible to for power users to use AutomateWoo even for unsupported events (either from 3rd party plugins, or WooCommerce core).

There are many questions around how this would work. For example, the Trigger options would need a way to specify the data types (WC_Order etc.) passed to callbacks on the hook, and therefore, available for the workflow. There would also need to be a way to define whether the hook is a filter or action to make sure the first parameter is returned for filters (this could be the default behaviour, as actions don’t mind if data is returned).
