Would love to see this feature implemented soon.
Any update on this? It’s a highly requested feature.
More and more people are asking me to change their code to make it easy to share and I can’t do it for now. I think that, for now, our affiliates program is not as successful as it could be because of the code itself. If people could change the code themselves it would be even better : it would be easy for all of us to tell our customers to change their code. Thank you for the great plugins btw !
There is still no way to programmatically modify the referral codes?
i am creating custom referral coupon for my client website. Where i am stuck is that i set the prefix for the referral to empty string but plugin is not validating it on checkout
Yes, please! This would make it so much easier for my client’s customers to be able to give referrals via literal word-of-mouth rather than having to email or share the coupon on social. Please release this quickly!
This will be a game changer once available. I’ve got several lined up that require something custom.

I’ve had several advocates ask for a unique code that is their name or handle. Easier for their users to remember!
Ben Moss: Thanks for your feedback! We do already exclude ambiguous characters like "0 o i l 1" from coupons in AW core. We will do the same for Refer A Friend coupons in the next version. You can also shorten the length of the coupons via this filter https://gist.github.com/danielbitzer/f050ce39dff6c013a7bae86a9c8f018f
Yes please! We’ve only just gotten started using refer-a-friend and already a few people have asked for easier codes, and try reading them over the phone! Good luck. Is that an O or a 0?
The ability to override auto-generated invisible referral coupons with a method of the admin’s choosing allows Advocates to use printed coupons in the offline world, which still exists. Currently, to print coupon codes that are easy to remember, I need to avoid using Refer-a-friend and make all the back-end connections myself with Excel and Woo coupons. Not my first choice.
