The more I think about it, the better it would work if you had the option to create a unique user role for advocates. That way you could only show referrals in the My Account section if they are an advocate, it would tie in to the "require approval" before allowing referrals, etc.

Joseph Cole: We might be able to tie this in with the advocate approval process feature and hide the my account section when an advocate is blocked / not approved

Along these lines, I’d love to output the number of people (qty) an advocate has referred on a page – preferably via a shortcode.
Agree this would be a great feature and really help incentivise avodocates when they can see a list of their invitations and statuses.
