Currently, rules based on attributes only work for variable products if the attribute specified in the rule is also used to create the variants.
Other attributes that are only attached to the parent product are ignored, even though they also apply to the variants, but do not define them.
The suggestion would be to take the attributes of the parent product into account when checking, if a coupon can be redeemed for a certain variant.
Example: The attribute “Manufacturer” is attached to the parent product. A coupon should apply to all products from a specific manufacturer.
