Hello WooCommerce team,

We would like to suggest adding a “Current stock” column to the order items table on the admin order details page, as illustrated in the attached screenshot.

While processing an order, it would be extremely helpful to see the remaining stock for each item directly alongside its order details, without opening individual product pages or searching through order notes.

Here is how we suggest this could work:

Show current stock when the order page is opened or refreshed, rather than a historical stock quantity recorded when the order was placed.

Include an “Update stock values” button to refresh the displayed quantities without reloading the entire page. This button should only retrieve the latest values, without changing inventory.

Display a “Last updated” time, so staff know when the quantities were retrieved.

Continuous real-time updates would not be necessary. Other sales or inventory adjustments may occur while the page is open, so a manual refresh option and a clear timestamp would be a practical solution.

The displayed quantity should reflect any stock deductions already processed. If this order has already reduced stock, its quantities must not be deducted again for this display. For variable products, the column should respect whether stock is managed at the variation or parent product level. Products without quantity tracking could show their stock status instead.

For stores using multiple inventory locations, it would also be helpful to support displaying stock from the location fulfilling the order, with that location clearly identified.

This feature would help staff identify low-stock or out-of-stock items during order processing and make everyday inventory checks much easier.
