Composite Products for WooCommerce

Exclude unchecked sub-products

I’m using Composite Products for a main-product, with several optional products.

An equal example would be adding options to your car.
I’d select the heated seats, the sunroof, and the tow bar. But the heated steering wheel, and keyless-go features are not chosen, of left unchecked.

At the “Review and Purchase” section, I would like it to be an option to not show what options I have excluded. As the function works now, it does say “No selection”, and the price is “0,00”, but in my mind it could be clearer.

I’ve tested scenarions, but I have not found a way to make this work.

Is there a way to add this option?

    Hey there,

    Thank you for this suggestion!

As far as I understand, you would like to hide optional components in the Review step, if customers haven’t selected a product for them. Is that right?

If so, then the reason why these components remain visible in the Review step is to provide a quick way for customers, who changed their mind, to edit them and select an option, even at last minute. If these components were hidden, then customers who wanted to select an option for them would need to click on one of the visible components and then navigate to the optional component using the Previous/Next navigation buttons.

Generally, we have seen that it is less likely for customers to complete a purchase if they need to click on many buttons to configure their product. However, I understand that, in some cases, it might make sense to present a cleaner Review step by hiding components that have not been configured — especially for Composites with a lot of products.

This is not something that is in our immediate plans for Composite Products, but if it is urgent for you, it might make sense exploring a custom coded solution. Our partners at Codeable (https://www.codeable.io/) or a Woo Expert (https://partners.woocommerce.com/English/marketplace/) should be able to help you with this!
