Composite Products

I sell a product that comes in 4 flavors. The customer choose which ‘flavor’ of the product they want. However, 2 SKUs show up on the packing slip. I only need 1 to show up as it is one SKU. If I make the composite product virtual then only 1 SKU (the ‘flavor’ of the product) shows up on the packing slip, but then the shipping calculator does not show up. I need it to show up. So if it was possible to have a toggle to have the composite product not show up and the components to show up then that would be great.
