Hello! In Woo Subscriptions, the Cart Details block on Checkout is busy, and I think it would be helpful to reduce the amount of information.
The default block includes:
– Product thumbnail
– Short product description or the signup fee/product variation
– How many items are in the cart
– The total “today”
– The option for coupons
– The subtotal
– Delivery
– Total due today (again)
– Monthly recurring total
– A Details block which if you open… shows
– Another subtotal
– More shipping details
– Total
– Call to action to pay
That is a lot of information and can be quite confusing. In addition to this, the columns are narrow, so the information falls into multiple lines.
Do we need the different subtotals and “due today” options?
Do we need the product variations or short description in the block?
Is there a way that if the recurring totals are the same as the first total, we don’t have the “starting” date, as that’s a date in the future, which customers may find confusing. From the customer’s perspective, their subscription starts the day of checkout, not the day of renewal.
These are all thought-starters and would love to chat further on making this more legible for the customer.
We made customisations to this block on wholyme.com, and it’s helped quite a bit by sharing only the most important information and its hierarchy. I think there are also some wins in which font we choose to make bold/larger. The hierarchy is a little off.
