When issuing a refund, the “Refund” button appears next to the message “This order is no longer editable”, which makes it seem like refunds aren’t possible. The refund amount box is also greyed out until a line item is edited, which isn’t obvious. This causes confusion for new users.
Suggestions:
* Separate the “Refund” button from the “not editable” message.
* Add a help icon or inline instructions explaining how to refund by editing product/shipping lines.
* Optionally, auto-display steps or a link when the Refund button is clicked.
This would make the process much clearer and prevent unnecessary frustration for merchants.
