Canvas has been a crowd favorite ever since it was released, which is why it is our « flagship » theme that receives most of the latest functionality. Version 2.0 gave you additional page templates (Magazine and Business) to play with, and now we are adding our latest WooTumblog functionality (no plugin required) so you can use our new Express iPhone App to publish to your Canvas powered blog!
For those that don’t know what Tumblog means, it means making your blog function like Tumblr, which allows you to very easily publish snippets of content, whether they be images, videos, audio, articles, quotes or links.
You’ll also notice we did some style upgrades on the options panel by adding icons to the options headers on the left. We’ll be adding this to all our new themes, and probably updating some of our older themes too.
The planned next step for Canvas will be adding BuddyPress functionality, which has been requested by a lot of our users. Stay tuned!
About
This is amazing addition to this theme.
This is awesome!
Great job.
This is really cool. I’m trying to think how this cold be worked into a blog that’s created a bunch of content already. May require some brainstorming. But I could see it rocking for a new blog!
Oh … F**k – this really means I might be re-Wooing back to Canvas from Exposure, yet again … maybe I can mix the themes – Home Vs Blog, on 2 domains – images and stories … Simply, I like both of them for different reasons yet Canvas continues to thrust new features into the 21st century of WP Blogging.
Great work – Woo Team

With WP Multi-site that is very possible. Our 76+ demos all run off one WP install 🙂
BuddyPress incoming, booya!
+1 for the BuddyPress support. I have yet to find a good BP theme and I’m in desperate need of one soon. I’ve already purchased Canvas, but with BP incorporation I’d be a very happy camper.
Oh…this is exactly what I wanted to hear!
Will I lose my settings during the upgrade? I haven’t made any file changes…only the backend settings
Thx!
No settings should be lost bit to be sure, use Framework > export options, so you have a backup
Can’t wait for the Buddypress compatibility!
Congrats guys, this is big.

Yes you need to update both canvas and the framework. Check the change log to see which files needs to be updatedmand our tutorial section on how to upgrade.
@Magnus
Any plans to make the WordPress version of « Postcard » Woo Tumblog Plugin friendly?
I’d love to be able to achieve something similar to http://postcardstheme.tumblr.com/ on WordPress, especially via the Woo Express iPhone app – perfect for travelling!

Hi
We don’t have any plans to make that, so you would need to download our Tumblog plugin and add the necessary code to make it work.
Thanks for the reply. That’s a shame, but i’ll give it a shot!
Question about Canvas + buddypress
A few months ago I spent a lot of time modifying canvas to work with buddypress and during the process I learned quite a bit about getting them working together. One ‘main issue’ that I had to get around is the naming of the divs that canvas uses for wrapping content is not the same as with buddypress. This became quite a hurdle but was easy enough to overcome. This leads me to my question…
Are you planning on changing the naming system of the divs within canvas to match what buddypress does, or are you going to keep the canvas naming system in place and adapt the css to buddypress?
The reason I bring this up:
Every plugin developer for buddypress follows the standard div naming system for bp. This meant that when I wanted to install a bp plugin, I had to recreate the plugin templates with the ‘canvas’ naming system in order to get everything working. It was no big deal, but I guarantee most users are going to have issues doing this.
I’m just curious on the route you are going to take because once again, I am going to redo my canvas-buddypress system, and would like to stay with what woo decides to go with. It’s hugely time consuming to redo everything.
I will say that the canvas-buddypress combination is a great setup. Having the woo admin panel with the ability to mod bp pages is awesome.
In certain situation or sucumstances stress works well to humanbeings, can some one describe why and how and when ?
Stress isn’t only experienced by adults. Teenagers can also experience serious cases of stress that is caused by more than overactive hormones and an acne breakout. In fact, serious cases of personal stress can result in physical, emotional and/or behavioral changes, eating disorders, depression, and in extreme cases, suicide.
oh yeah buddypress!!!!! 🙂 so can’t wait!
