  1. I asked this last week on the 100,000 download post (twice) without an answer so I figure you guys must have missed my question so I will post it here again.

What ever happened to the woocommerce addon subscription for club members that you said was coming in a few months 6 months ago?

    • I never heard about this…I think they should do it. It sounds like a GREAT idea! I would subscribe!

    • I’m fairly certain it is abandoned for now unfortunately.

With a lot of 3rd party developers creating extensions now it’s hard to offer all of them under one subscription and split the revenue accordingly. There are a few scenarios I can imagine that would be very unfair to all our 3rd party developers.

Perhaps some day there could be a core subscription, although that would get very confusing and we’re all about simplicity. It’s been our motto for our strategy this year.

We’ll try to get an official response though with more insight. 🙂

    • Sorry if we missed it. We made a decision about this earlier this year and unfortunately came to the conclusion that we won’t be offering such a subscription plan.

      • So as users who have paid the club membership from the beginning, we are expected to pay with this ad-hoc model?

Seriously, WooThemes has taken a dramatic turn as far as their understanding of their consumers.

        • I understand that this may be disappointing news for some, but it was never our intention to mislead. We wanted to offer this add-on subscription, but it just wasn’t doable.

          • I’m personally very disappointed. Magnus, you personally told us several times that this was going to happen and we all just needed to patiently wait a bit longer. For me, it’s not about the cost it’s about a mans word and when I take a man at his word and say to myself, well.. I can put off some projects for a « few months » because there will be a financial benefit from waiting I can then justify that wait.

Now I sitting here a half year later and now I am looking at a free plugin which is great but I see a potential of likely hundreds of « extensions » of varying capacity costing various amounts that rapidly make this free plugin not-so-free anymore (and I really hate having a too many plugins, too many settings tabs and too many places to fidget with stuff). If we add up at retail price the most common « extensions » that I would use on a regular basis I’m looking at spending $400 or so after using the coupon so at that price point, it’s competitiveness to me, over the long term is substantially reduced from what it had been portrayed as initially..

Now that I know this is never going to happen it also raises a concern back to the top of my head… value for subscribers… if everything is an « extension » nothing « cool » will be left for the core plugin, there are already many extensions that would seem better suited as a standard feature than a separate addon. Anyhow, this is my final rant on this subject, you know my thoughts and I now finally know you have no intention of doing what you said you would.

        • Times have changed. Most of the work being put out is not from WooThemes, its all out-sourced. They sell there membership base to 3rd parties and share the revenue.

Your club membership should have a coupon code if it helps.

  2. I love the « Review for discount » extension because I already offer that discount to my customers and having it automated will make my life MUCH easier.

However, I was wondering if it has any verification settings…

For example, maybe checks for their order number or email address in the system before approving their review and giving them a coupon? I would hate to rack up bogus reviews just so people could get a discount…

    Thank you,
    Christina

    • Totally behind this comment.

Interested to know if it does this. Or if it is in the piple-line.

There would be nothing stopping a user with the comment « asdasdasd »

Or « I’m just leaving this comment for money off »

      …and getting a nice discount.

  3. Nice work on the Bulk Stock Management. However it reminds me that I need to question Variations titles. Imagine having 30 variations per product and trying to take care of stock management. This extension will solve the riddle nicely. But…. How do I know which variation of a product is which?

    variation #1174 of Berlin
    variation #1175 of Berlin
    variation #1176 of Berlin
    variation #1177 of Berlin
    variation #1178 of Berlin
    variation #1179 of Berlin

Which one is XS size with the red stiching?

Keep up the great work guys, love ya’s long time. 😉

    • Any news on how to sort this out? The more products we create the harder this will get on knowing which variation is what. Especially when the admin wants to create orders manually from phone orders. How will the admin know which product to add to the order especially when you have maybe up to 35 variations of just one product.

  4. See you finally got the update out… (only kidding!) It all sounds awesome, like the updates and love the sound of the new review for discount extension. I agree with above though – is there any way to ensure that people that review have definitely ordered previously?

Also looking forward to hearing what’s coming with WooLabs! Great work guys 🙂

  6. Any plans for adding currency conversion during checkout for paypal/2co/… unsupported currencies? That would be a great plus for many countries.

  8. Hi guys,

Woocommerce just keeps getting better and better! Re Mail Chimp, is there any news on a mailchimp plugin that will pull together a list of products and auto-generate an email like you get from Amazon?

Also, any news on mobile extensions?

    Thank you

  12. Hi Guys,

First of all…awesome work. After my day and night research of finding the best e-commerce solution, I’ve finally narrowed it down on woocommerce.

I think the application looks great. I will be starting my store soon but I need a little help.

I am from India and wanted to know if there are any extensions for CCAvenue/EBS/Payu(India) payment gateways or if anyone is making one 😛 ?

Please help. Thanks a bunch 🙂

    Cheers
