I think you’ve got Adii mixed up with our resident golfer Magnus 🙂

Or we’re announcing the construction of a new WooThemes Mega Mall on our newly acquired, private island (right next to Sir Richard Branson’s).

I thought that it was world domination and an introduction of WooCurrency, which of course for all of us loyal subscribers would be worth at least 10 times the amount in our hands than those of the mere mortal non-woothemers (I would call them muggles, but I might offend or possible cause some infringement or other .. but then again .. with World Conquering on it’s way .. does that apply anymore?)

My guess: Come sept. 27th – you’ll make a blogpost about an upcoming WooCommerce release.

Why would you go an promise a release, right after promising it mid-sept, after promising and promising. Just release it when ready insted of this b*******.

    Yes. I said it.

    • Zach
      September 20, 2011

Or or… it’s just the release. Chill man.

I stumbled upon the official woocommerce plugin page yesterday in the SERPs. The plugin download link was just set to #.

    Screenshot: http://twitpic.com/6ntvts

My guess is it’s ready for 1st release 🙂

    • Adii Rockstar

Who looks at SERP’s anyway? Sheesh. 😉

        September 20, 2011

Well, when you are anxiously awaiting woocommerce you search for information about it in google by filtering past week 🙂

        • Adii Rockstar
          September 20, 2011

          Fair enough.

If I wasn’t as excited as you are, I would’ve said “Gross!’ now. 🙂

      • Matt
        September 20, 2011

If woocommerce can replace shopify for me then I will need a change of pants.

        Now you can say gross.

        • Adii Rockstar
          September 21, 2011

          LOL! 🙂

How would WooCommerce be able to replace Shopify for you?

          • Matt
            September 21, 2011

Well, hopefully it will be as functional as Shopify with all the benefits of wordpress. Plus shopify’s out of the box SEO capabilities stink. I’m a fan of the WordPress SEO plugin.

Will there be a way to bulk manage products? Shopify, for example, allows you to edit export, edit and import a .csv file.

You have no idea the fumbling with clients I am doing to push back eCommerce site builds at the moment.
It is an odd position to be in but the wait is almost over.
In the meantime I need a few more excuses to add to my list apart from “I have a sore wrist at the moment”, “I have to take the cat to the vet”, or my old favourite ” What did you say?? Shopping-What? You need to call me back on a better line”

    • Josh
      September 21, 2011

      – “It’s more strategic to launch an e-commerce site in October.”
      – “The shopping cart is already made, but it will take another 7 days for the DNS to propagate.”
      – “Each product takes about a day each to add into the cart.”
      – “If you want something good, it’s worth waiting for.”

If I remember correctly, there will be a new theme released at the same time as WooCommerce, right?

Also, any plans to get BraveNewCode’s Piggy working with WooCommerce?

Just curious, is the ability to have users log in and sell through your site on the roadmap? I’m looking for a solution where people can log into a marketplace, sell their wares and we get a % of it.

    • Jay
      September 23, 2011

      Not at the moment.

Not that I want to promote a competitor but I believe MarketPress is the only plugin which does this at present.

No idea but my dream would be sliders etc that connect to pages not just posts. Can’t be that difficult and would reflect that WordPress is now a CMS not just a blogging tool!

    • Jesse
      September 25, 2011

There is a plugin you can use that will allow you to do this, its called Page Links To and you can grab it at http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/page-links-to/

I have used it on several client sites where they wanted to have the ability to easily link their homepage slider ot other pages on the site (even outside of WordPress etc)

Is it a Short Code for Example Code formatting in a Post (e.g. SQL, C#, HTML) ? As a Developer subscriber, this one addition would make me feel so good about renewing my membership for at least another year.

    • Jay
      September 24, 2011

There are some great plugins out there which already do this 🙂

      • Michael
