This note covers two releases at once — 6.5.0 and 6.6.0. Together they sharpen how AutomateWoo tracks abandoned carts, measures email engagement, styles your emails, and keeps workflows running where they should.
See what actually happens to abandoned carts. Instead of deleting a cart record once the cart is emptied or the order is placed, AutomateWoo now keeps it and tracks its outcome — Emptied, Placed, or Recovered. You get a clearer, ongoing picture of how your abandoned cart workflows are performing rather than losing the trail the moment a cart changes.
Get complete click data from plain-text emails. Click tracking now works on plain web addresses in plain-text emails, not just on linked text. Customers who receive the plain-text version of your emails now count toward your engagement data, so your reporting reflects everyone you reached.
Your MailPoet email styling now carries into AutomateWoo emails. If you’ve already styled your MailPoet emails with your brand colors, logo, and footer, those customizations now apply automatically to AutomateWoo emails that use the default template — no need to rebuild the look a second time.
Stop chasing customers who already paid. The Subscription Renewal Payment Failed workflow has a new option to skip running once a renewal payment succeeds, so a customer who recovers on their own won’t get a “payment failed” follow-up they no longer need.
Spot opt-outs at a glance. A new badge appears next to opted-out customers on the queue page, so you can see who has unsubscribed without digging into individual records.
Make sure imported orders count toward Win Back. A new tool rebuilds the customer last-order-date index so orders you imported into your store are factored into your Customer Win Back workflows, instead of being quietly left out.
More control over where and how workflows run. From the 6.5.0 release, AutomateWoo now automatically pauses workflows on staging, development, and local sites (with an admin notice and an option to override), so a test environment can’t accidentally email your real customers. Order workflows can opt to run only for orders placed through checkout, a new action lets you stagger subscription renewal payment times to ease load at renewal, and you can now filter audiences by a customer’s shipping state.
Clearer reporting and safer admin. You can now see opt-outs directly on the Opt-ins report — including which workflow triggered each one — filter the unsubscribers report by workflow, and surface failed items on the Queue list with a failed-status filter and “failed last” sort. Bulk-deleting workflow logs now asks for confirmation first, and you can hide individual dashboard widgets through Screen Options.
This release also fixes a number of issues, including a Mailchimp problem where a missing or incorrect API key could cause a fatal error (you now get a helpful notice instead), product images rendering at the wrong size in classic Outlook, and time-of-day workflows scheduled late in the day not running on the intended day.
How to get it
Update WooCommerce to 10.8 or newer first, then update AutomateWoo to 6.6.0 from your WooCommerce dashboard. The cart-status tracking, plain-text click tracking, and MailPoet styling improvements apply automatically; the new workflow options are available to configure on the relevant triggers and workflows.
