The Subscriptions Health Check tool gives merchants a clear view of subscriptions that may not be renewing as expected — so you can review them and take action from the subscription edit screen.
Find it at WooCommerce > Status > Subscriptions. It runs on a nightly schedule and can be triggered manually at any time. No automatic changes are made to your subscriptions.
The tool surfaces two categories:
Supports auto-renewal — subscriptions currently set to manual renewal where the customer has a saved payment token on a gateway that supports automatic billing. These are the ones most likely to warrant a closer look.
Missing renewals — active or on-hold subscriptions with no next payment date, or a next payment date in the past with no matching renewal order. Common causes include plugin conflicts, server or migration issues, and scheduled actions not running correctly.
A few things worth knowing before you run it: manual renewal is a legitimate state for many subscriptions — subscribers who opted out of auto-renewal via My Account, payment methods like bank transfers that require it, and stores with “Turn off Automatic Payments” enabled will all appear in the results. The tool doesn’t pre-filter them — it surfaces everything and tags it clearly so you can decide.
This is the first version of what will be an ongoing diagnostic layer for WooCommerce Subscriptions. Additional categories are planned.
