It isn’t everyday that WooThemers get see each other face to face. This past weekend a half dozen of us came together to attend WordCamp San Francisco, chat with our customers, and eat some amazing burritos (seriously – they were delicious). In attendance were Bryce, Cobus, Dwain, Danny, Marina, and myself.
Sponsoring WordCamp San Francisco
↑ Voltar Para o TopoWith team members all over the US, Canada, Brazil, Europe, South Africa, and Asia it’s pretty rare that more than one ninja can attend any event. With six ninjas attending this WordCamp we wanted to not only sponsor the event but also set up a booth to meet some of our customers. Being a distributed company it’s amazing when we finally get a chance to talk to our customers face to face to figure out their needs, wants, and desires.
We got a whole ton of ideas and, based on some of the feedback we got, reordered some of the products on our roadmap. Don’t worry if you didn’t attend WordCamp San Francisco you can still help us plan which products on our roadmap are built first by voting for your favorite ideas.
Incredible Presentations
↑ Voltar Para o TopoWith six of us in attendance that means there was always the opportunity to go to a presentation we wanted to see. Some of our favorites include
- The Future Of WordPress Is Global by Andrew Nacin
- Strengthening Your Brand With A Blog by Chris Lema
- Inspiring Stories by Cory Miller
- Realtime Communication with Socket.io and WordPress by Guillermo Rauch
And of course – The State of the Word 2014 by Matt Mullenweg.
Believe me – if you haven’t seen these speakers present before you need to get out to a WordCamp where they’re speaking, sit your butt in the front row, and be prepared for awesomeness. Not only are they great story tellers on stage but they’re technically savvy and will share enough for you to get started the next day.
Contributing to WordPress
↑ Voltar Para o TopoOn Sunday those of us who weren’t watching over the booth or in sessions were contributing to WordPress. Danny approved a theme for WordPress.org and Bryce’s first patch was finally committed to WordPress core. Great job guys! So proud of you.
O.M.G. Burritos
↑ Voltar Para o TopoLastly and perhaps most importantly. We listened to a San Franciscan’s advice and headed to Taqueria Cancun for some seriously delicious burritos.
Soon it will be WooCommerce Conference! We are excited.
