Google Product Feed for WooCommerce

Feed rich product data to Google Merchant Center for setting up free product listings, product ads, and local inventory campaigns. Full control over your field mappings, and feed content so you can maximize campaign performance and ad spend.

Use ProductGroup structured data for variants instead of separate products

With the introduction of the Expanded structured data markup feature (https://woocommerce.com/document/google-product-feed-expanded-structured-data/), variants are listed in structured data as separate products.

Google’s recommendation is to use the ProductGroup class for variants: https://developers.google.com/search/docs/appearance/structured-data/product-variants

This can help with shopping listings in both organic and paid, we have seen Shopping listing visibility improve for other sites where we have implemented ProductGroup. It would be great if this plugin used ProductGroup for variants.

Hi; Thanks for posting this. When we first launched the Expanded Structured Data markup feature, there was no guidance on the best way to represent variant data. We have been looking into moving across to ProductGroup but I think there are a number of potential issues with this approach. If you’ve implemented this on your site already it would be great to take into consideration your experiences. Is there any chance you can reach out to our tech team here (https://www.ademti-software.co.uk/contact/) and answer a couple of questions about your experiences and any potential implementation?

Agreed, this would be a welcome upgrade as there are sites we would like to implement ProductGroup as well.
