9.2.0 rebuilds the Subscriptions settings page and changes two defaults you should check after updating. It also fixes a set of billing problems that were leaving renewals uncharged or charged at the wrong amount.
Check two settings after you update. Settings are now a single column with clearer labels and inline help at WooCommerce > Settings > Subscriptions. Early renewal payments are now on by default on any store that never saved the “Allow early renewal payments” setting, which means customers on those stores can pay a renewal ahead of its due date; turn it off in Settings if you don’t want that. “Turn off automatic payments” now requires “Accept Manual Renewals” to be enabled first, and “Suspensions per Billing Period” is a number field you can set to any value.
Gifting is now set per product. Gifting used to be a single storewide switch. It is now enabled on individual products, existing products are migrated in the background so they keep the behavior they have today, and new products start with gifting off. A new bulk edit action on the Products screen turns gifting on or off across many products at once.
Billing and payment fixes. Scheduled renewal payments no longer fail with an error that left subscriptions on hold and customers uncharged. On stores that enter prices including tax, a renewal paid through checkout on a subscription with a manual discount now charges the correct total instead of under-charging it. PayPal Standard sign-ups and payments are now checked against your PayPal account, the subscription’s currency, and the amount PayPal was asked to bill. A payment that doesn’t match isn’t recorded: the reason is noted on the subscription, the subscription goes on hold, and the customer is sent a renewal invoice that moves them onto a new PayPal profile at the right amount. Line items bought under a “Do not stop until cancelled” plan before All Products for Subscriptions became part of Subscriptions in 9.0.0 are matched to that plan again, so recurring and sign-up fee coupons apply and plan pricing is used; on those subscriptions, a switch taken during a free trial now ends the trial and charges the new plan.

Update to WooCommerce Subscriptions 9.2.0. Most of this applies automatically, but review WooCommerce > Settings > Subscriptions for the early renewal default, and check gifting on the products you sell as gifts.
