MailPoet 5.41.0: Google Analytics tracking on personalized links, an editor choice in automation templates, and sign-up form fixes

MailPoet 5.41.0 closes a gap in Google Analytics reporting for block editor emails, lets you choose your email editor before an automation creates its email, and fixes forms that kept collecting subscribers after you turned them off.

If you use Google Analytics tracking, links built from personalization tags in block editor emails now carry the same tracking parameters as your other links. Clicks on those links now count toward the campaign in your Analytics reports. Subscriber links in your emails are also more reliable.

When you start an automation from a template, you now choose which email editor to use before the email is created. In the block email editor, font sizes in the Styles sidebar now use pixels, so the size you pick is the size subscribers see in their email client. A button placed after a Media & Text block no longer spreads its background color across that block in sent emails.

On the form side, inactive and trashed forms no longer accept new subscriptions. If you switched off an old form, it now stops adding people to your list. Registration with CAPTCHA enabled also works again on sites where the MailPoet page was deleted, trashed, or unpublished. Form previews and the checkout opt-in message now keep their formatting.

If you use MailPoet Premium, the Premium update now shows in your dashboard even while the newest free release is still on hold on WordPress.org. This release also fixes cut-off badge text in the Newsletters listing and text alignment in Tags fields, and removes the Content section from the Email tab of the email editor sidebar.

How to get it

Update to MailPoet 5.41.0 in your WordPress dashboard. All changes apply automatically, no setup required. If you have old forms you deactivated or trashed, nothing else is needed: they stop accepting sign-ups once you update.
