WooCommerce Subscriptions

Let customers subscribe to your products or services and pay on a weekly, monthly or annual basis.

Add subscription when order includes subscription product

You can manually add an order, with a subscription product, but this doesn’t create a subscription.

Before WooCommerce Subscriptions 2.0 this was possible, however it isn’t anymore. There’s also no feedback within the website that explains that you CANNOT add a subscription product to an order and expect it to create the subscription.

I have come across this and didn’t know it used to there. It’s adding considerably to our admin workload and I can’t see any reason for it.

Support said ‘It probably works like that because you don’t want a subscription to be created in every use case where you manually create the order.

For instance, you can manually create the order, then send the invoice to the customer, who can follow the link to complete the checkout.

In that case their payment details will be saved when the subscription is created, and they can then let it auto renew. ‘

But the invoice is not automatic you need to send it manual and it should be toggled on Order Status > Completed
