Buttons not dropdowns for variable times

We have a rehearsal studio, where you can book 1 or 2 hour blocks depending on time of day. This variable time is accounted for if you pick “Customer defined blocks: ” in the Product > General. But this renders the Available Times in a dropdown.

We think the UX would be much improved if these time ranges were rendered in buttons. Currently, this is only available if you select “Fixed blocks”. But then you lose the ability to have variable blocks of 1 OR 2 hours.

This is a silly restriction. I’ve tried to work around this at the Resource level, but have yet been unsuccessful.

Other booking modules do this.

I’ve looked for the code that controls this, perhaps includes > views > wc-bookings-functions.php. After all, it is a matter of changing an html element from a dropdown to a button. Can’t be that difficult, right?

Any thoughts on how to easily achieve this?
Thanks!
