Composite Products for WooCommerce

Create product kit builders and custom product configurators using existing products.

catagory in scenarios for composite products

Can you tell me if there is any plans to allow a selection in a category option for scenarios, so what i means is instead of having to select all the products i want in the selection is, i just want to select a category, (so selection is in..) this would allow much better and easier control of scenario as i could just make categories and add new products to the categories so i dont have to update all the scenarios when products change and new options arrive.
If not how can i get it done as it is just too time consuming to make the scenarios i want.

One must wonder if Woo pays any attention at all to these requests – the top voted request, open for 7 years – no feedback, no update, should be a core part of the product and really poor form to ignore community feedback and top-voted requests.

I agree that this is an essential feature. We have written our own code to achieve this functionality but have to manually configure all the rules in a separate plug-in.

As Products with Variationen create a UX nightmare with multiple clicks to select one item, this request is a must have for this plugin.

In its current state (already end of 2023) this add-on creates a maintainability horror Show as Sonne as you have to use Scenarios to hide multiple products/show products of a category based on previous selection.

Due to this issue causing really time consulting maintenance issues, which rendern the import/export nearlly worthless. Because after each full import you need to selektion all items previously selected to hide in scenarios again.

I don’t recommend this plugin, when you need scenarios, as it is not maintainable (or you use products with variants and show your visitors a really bad UX).

I haven’t found an alternative way to approach this, so it is still not solved. I won’t use it on another planned website, as a form Tool does the Job as well, but leaves more freedom and works completely without Woo.

That’s an absolute nobrainer, that this plugin is lacking for 5 years now. I even tested other solutions like creating a Product with variations and that just leads to bad UX, requiring a two selection to get to the variant.

Just add a product bundle as a component and you just have to update the bundle and its reflected in all composite products you have with that bundle.

Hello, i also think that allow a selection in a category option for scenarios (instead of only selection by products) would be something very useful.

Absolutely horrendous that this is not already a basic feature of the plugin. Defies logic and common sense that the authors could overlook this feature. The lack of category/tag-level conditional control makes it virtually unusable.

The currently included limited case-by-case selection of component options is impractical when you have a large inventory. I can’t realistically go into each product of tens or even hundreds to update the selection list individually for every product. Rather, such dependences ought to be defined – efficiently – in terms of product categories or attributes, such as LGA1151 CPUs, unlocked CPUs, etc. which can then be used to define compatibility rules en masse

I’m in the same situation. It does seem like a no-brainer to include this functionality out of the box.

Has anyone found a solution or workaround to this problem?
