Some shops have products which are prepared or manufactured individually or per product meaning once a product has been prepared for production it doesn’t matter how many have pre-ordered. Like for digital products.
Too many pre-orders of different products might overwhelm order processing.
my suggestion:
– add an option to limit the amount of pre-orders for a) any product or b) different products.
– add a global option to deactivate future pre-orders.

Hi mailchef,
That’s a smart suggestion — capping pre-order quantity per product makes sense for anything prepared or manufactured individually, and having a global kill-switch for pre-orders is useful when order volume gets ahead of production capacity.
Smart Pre-Order Manager for WooCommerce lets you set a limit on the number of pre-orders per product, so you’re not overwhelmed once a batch or production run is full.
Happy to help if you have questions about setting it up.
