Machine ID binding to prevent license sharing

I do hope that I have missed something, but I am not finding a way to prevent license sharing across machines. The needs to be away for the API to record the machine ID at time of activation. I believe that this is the best, if not only way to prevent unauthorized use of my subscription products.
