That’s a clean solution — a shortcode is much more flexible than editing a settings-page message when you’re building a custom product page layout.
Smart Pre-Order Manager for WooCommerce includes a shortcode to display the availability date on pre-order/backorder products, so you can drop it into a custom page template without writing PHP.
