According to the Industry Alert, the Web Tools API platform will be retired on January 25, 2026. All users must migrate to the new USPS APIs to avoid service disruptions.
Looking at the documentation, this plugin still depends on the Legacy API.
If it is not already planned, migrating this plugin to use the modern API would be a really good idea.

Please give us an update on this. We will need to upgrade to the new USPS APIs to avoid disruption to our Woo store customers. We need to know your plans as soon as possible.
@Woo – Please give us an update on this – Just purchased this plugin and now receiving the emails about needing to upgrade to new USPS APIs to avoid disrutions… Let us know.
I’ve received several emails from USPS about this and also have clients asking me what the plan is for upgrading. Please release a statement about your plan to upgrade so we can reassure clients!
Dear WooCommerce team,
I’m currently using the “USPS Shipping Method” plugin for my WooCommerce store and recently received a notice from USPS that their Web Tools API platform will be retired on January 25, 2026.
As this plugin currently relies on the legacy USPS Web Tools API (e.g., RateV4, IntlRateV2), I’d like to know whether you plan to update the plugin to support the new USPS APIs available at developers.usps.com.
Could you please confirm:
• If there is a planned update to migrate to the new USPS APIs?
• The expected timeline for such an update?
• Whether any action is required on my end to ensure continued USPS shipping functionality after January 2026?
Thank you for your support and for helping us stay ahead of upcoming changes.
Best regards,
Denis Doroshchuk
Is the update from Legacy to the new USPS API something we can expect? Or should developers start planning to migrate from this plugin?
Yes, please! I keep getting emails from USPS about upgrading. I hope this is already in the works.
