Since there’s no tracking of the quantity of add-ons, it would be super helpful if I can offer other products in the store as add-on.
E.g. Banana float as a product, but sell banana as an add-on for extra banana. Also offer banana as a standalone product because the banana is really good.

Product Add-Ons allows you to add extra customization options to your products. These options are more like product characteristics/attribute, like color, engraving etc. rather than physical products.
Based on the use case you described, I recommend having a look at the Bundle-Sells feature: https://woocommerce.com/document/bundles/bundles-configuration/#bundle-sells that is part of the Product Bundles: https://woocommerce.com/products/product-bundles/ plugin.
