Google for WooCommerce 3.9.3 changes what happens when the connection between your store and Google stops working. Instead of continuing to send requests that Google rejects, syncing pauses and you get a notice telling you to reconnect.
Before this release, a rejected authentication token was handled one product at a time. A sync run would work through your entire catalog, fail on every product for the same reason, and leave you with a pile of errors that didn’t say what was actually wrong. Now the run stops on the first authentication failure. And when the connection has no owner account attached, or Google rejects your site’s token outright, product and coupon syncing pauses and a reconnect notice appears rather than the plugin quietly retrying against a connection that can’t work. If you’ve had syncs that seemed to run but never updated anything in Merchant Center, this is the kind of failure that was behind it.
Two other changes worth knowing about. Products that sync to more than one feed used to show up in the issues list once per feed, with the same problem repeated under different country codes; they now appear as one row listing every country the issue applies to. And the Merchant Center product status refresh has been rebuilt to pull paginated product lists instead of a report plus a separate request per product, with larger write batches — the same information, considerably fewer requests to Google.
How to get it
Update to Google for WooCommerce 3.9.3 in your WooCommerce dashboard. Everything here applies automatically. If a reconnect notice appears after updating, reconnect your Google account from the plugin’s settings — the notice means the connection was already broken, not that the update broke it.
