AutomateWoo — Referrals 2.9.0 launches your referral program on day one with an auto-created share page, gives you tighter control over who can redeem coupons, and keeps advocate reward credit accurate.
Your referral program is ready to share the moment you install it. AutomateWoo — Referrals 2.9.0 now creates a “Refer a friend” share page for you automatically, so advocates have somewhere to send invitations without any setup on your part. A new read-only program summary in the Referrals admin area gives you a quick view of how the program is performing.
Tighter control over who can redeem a referral coupon. A new option restricts each coupon to the invited email address only, so codes can’t be passed around beyond the intended recipient. Referral coupons now also work on orders you create manually from the admin, not just at checkout, and if WooCommerce coupons are switched off — which silently breaks referral rewards — you’ll see a warning in settings so you can catch it early. Default coupon codes are also shorter now, making them easier for customers to type and share.
More accurate reward credit. Advocate credit is now correctly restored when a payment fails on an older order and re-applied when a failed subscription renewal later succeeds on retry. Credit used in an order also respects your store’s tax display setting, so the amount deducted from an advocate’s balance matches the discount the customer actually saw.
This release also preserves line breaks in X and WhatsApp share text, keeps the share widget legible on dark themes, fixes an email autofill issue on the share form, and speeds up referral lookups for registered customers.
How to get it
Update to AutomateWoo — Referrals 2.9.0 (requires WooCommerce 10.7+ and WordPress 6.9 or newer). The share page and program summary appear automatically once you update — no setup required.
