WooCommerce POS: use a phone as your tablet’s card reader

WooCommerce POS now supports Remote Tap-to-Pay, letting you turn an Android phone into a card reader for your tablet. The two devices talk to each other over your store's Wi-Fi network, so you don't need a separate Bluetooth card reader at every checkout station.

On the phone, open Card Reader Mode under Settings > Payments. The phone shows a 6-digit pairing code. From your tablet, start a card reader connection. The phone appears in the discovered readers list with the same code. Tap to confirm, ring up the sale on the tablet, and the phone prompts the customer to tap...

Stay on top of Square for WooCommerce product sync

Square for WooCommerce 5.3.3 adds a new Woo Admin dashboard notice that alerts you when your WooCommerce product catalog hasn't synced with Square recently, so you can catch issues before they affect inventory.

This release also prevents duplicate Square catalog items when a product SKU already exists, and stops unmatched variations from overwriting unrelated products during sync.Inventory pushes now fall back to SKU-based lookups when a Square variation ID is missing, so stock updates go through even when the connection between products isn't perfect.

Syncs no longer stall on malformed Square catalog data, and removing payment tokens on staging...

MailPoet 5.26.0: segment by product variation and trigger automations the moment someone unsubscribes

MailPoet 5.26.0 lets you target shoppers by the exact product variation they bought and act the moment a contact opts out. The release also adds Cloudflare Turnstile on signup forms and subscriber-limit warning emails.

You can now build dynamic segments around specific product variations — not just the parent product. A customer who bought the "Large / Blue" variant can land in a different campaign than someone who bought "Small / Red," so your follow-ups match what each shopper actually purchased.

Pair that with a new automation that fires the moment someone unsubscribes. Trigger a win-back offer, send a feedback request, or alert...

AutomateWoo 6.4.0 – build sharper automations around subscription switches and billing details, share workflows safely with your team, and keep large stores running fast as your log history grows.

This release also fixes several issues: tracking links now apply to plain-text URLs in emails, not just linked text; manual workflow runs no longer skip or duplicate records that share the same timestamp; duplicate scheduled actions are no longer queued for the same workflow item; and review-based workflows no longer error when comment data is missing.

How to get it

Update to AutomateWoo 6.4.0 from your WooCommerce dashboard. The new trigger, billing variables, view-only access, and automatic log cleanup are available as soon as you update. If you run a very large store (1M+ log rows), run wp automatewoo add-log-indexes...

Review and manage subscription renewal states with the new Subscriptions Health Check

The Subscriptions Health Check tool gives merchants a clear view of subscriptions that may not be renewing as expected — so you can review them and take action from the subscription edit screen.

Find it at WooCommerce > Status > Subscriptions. It runs on a nightly schedule and can be triggered manually at any time. No automatic changes are made to your subscriptions.

The tool surfaces two categories:

Supports auto-renewal — subscriptions currently set to manual renewal where the customer has a saved payment token on a gateway that supports automatic billing. These are the ones most likely to warrant a closer look.
