This brand does not need much of an introduction. First held in 1986, Burning Man Festival has grown into a movement like no other. It’s more than just a festival. It has evolved into a culture of upliftment, empowerment, and community. Each year, thousands of festival-goers make the journey to Black Rock City in Nevada – the home to the festival since 1998.

Experiences are immersive. Art, music, and other forms of creative expression set this event from other festivals. Co-founder Larry Harvey outlined 10 principles that guide the festival: radical inclusion, gifting, decommodification, radical self-reliance, radical self-expression, communal effort, civic responsibility, leaving no trace, participation, and immediacy.
The Burning Man Marketplace is the designated source for all things relating to the festival – books, movies, posters, and other products. Catering to new festival-goers and returning loyalists, products share the ethos of the festival.
Annual posters give a history of the festival’s incredible themes. Videos showcase some of the many unforgettable moments and experiences. Books give insight into the movement and what it stands for in society. Tickets can also be purchased through the Marketplace.
To help the Marketplace expand their reach and drive more sales, WooCommerce extensions were used within the existing WordPress site. The goal of the online store is to not only sell products but also to sell the Burning Man experience. With that in mind, the innovation of WooCommerce tools helped create payment systems that enabled a more streamlined experience for Burning Man Marketplace customers, driving conversions in the process.
