Cancellation Survey and Offers for WooCommerce Subscriptions

Dear Meow Crew,

I’d like to share two ideas that I believe could significantly improve your product:

1. Make further specification optional
Currently, users are required to enter at least five characters when providing additional details. From our experience, this isn’t always ideal – we frequently receive complaints about it. While it’s great that users can provide more context, they shouldn’t be forced to do so.

Requested changes:

– Remove the minimum 5-character requirement entirely
or
– Add an option to make this field optional

2. Allow custom placeholder text based on cancellation reason

The current placeholder “Please specify” is quite generic and tends to produce repetitive or vague responses. Often, users simply restate the cancellation reason, e.g., “Another tool suits us better.”

With custom placeholders, we could ask more targeted follow-up questions to collect valuable insights. For example:

If the reason is “Another tool suits us better,” the placeholder could be “Which tool are you using now?” or “What made you switch?”

If the reason is “It’s not worth the price,” the placeholder could be “What would make it worth the price for you?”

Requested change:

– Add a second field for each cancellation reason to define a custom placeholder text
