    Very cumbersome to manage and lacking a lot of basic features (export, product customization, etc.). It appears to just take basic or variable products and allow for recurring charges for those products. Which means you’re stuck with a traditional WooCommerce product and forcing it into a subscription product. One example, is that it still requires product images to display properly on the site. For $200, it’s not worth the money. However, alternative options don’t seem to exist. If anyone knows of a similar (cheaper) option, please comment here.

    At $200 a year this is a complete robbery. If it was a 1 time payment I would be happy but you end up paying $200 every year for a plugin with super basic features. The plugin works and gets the job done but not at the listed price point.

    I’m a bit surprised about the one star ratings, but i can understand it.

    « Lack of functionalities for the price » => There is enough functionalities for most cases.
    If you have a really specific integration you’ll need a developer: the dev’ documentation is pretty good.

    But i agree with two missing features:
    1)Email reminders for automatic renewals and expired subscriptions.
    2)If you want to export your subscribers you’ll need another plugin.

    So that’s a 4/5 stars rating for me.

    That’s a heavy plugin: be sure to test it before you install it on a production website.
    And as always, take a look at the public documentation: some functionalities may be hard to configure at first.

    Seriously – for a $200 a year plugin, you don’t provide basic data export? While this plugin works reasonably well overall, the number of extremely basic features that Woocommerce wants to charge an extra $100 a year for is getting ridiculous. Don’t assume this plugin comes with *any* feature not explicitly stated, no matter how obvious it seems. Had I known how expensive and how much of a headache trying to cobble together a working solution would be, I would’ve gone with a different solution from the beginning.

    It can be a confusing plugin to resolve issues w/, and w/ the issues we were running into (lost communication btwn Braintree and WooCommerce via our wordpress admin backend), it was hard to get support to know what we needed and to help in a meaningful way. Finally, we got to talk to Tamara from support, and she was able to help us resolve our problem as well as provide a detailed explanation for how to reconcile the tokens if needed, which was one of our original questions to support.

    Pro-Rated Payments. If a customer starts on the 15th on the month, they will only pay half the month and money can come out on the 1st of the month. Really good for Gyms who want all their payments on the first of every month. Also gives users control to pause payments.

    We've been using this plugin for two years, and recently had a very strange (hard to track down) issue affecting a handful of subscriptions. After a deep-dive with support, we were able to figure out the root cause (it was due to how we were manually processing some renewals and how our payment provider was treating those) and recover the subscriptions that were affected. When I say deep dive, I mean 18 emails back-and-forth between us and SkyVerge support. They were very knowledgeable throughout the support process and didn't stop until we found and corrected the issue. After it was all said and done, we received a full write-up of how the issue occurred and how it could be remediated in the future. The write-up was certainly above and beyond, but also a life saver. Thank you to Steve and Willington for persevering and getting our subscriptions back on track.

    Good Plugin, but a lot of necessary Functions are missing. I've set it up and let it run for a year. After that some of my Users complained, that their Subscription expired and didn't get renewed. The Support was great and found the Problem, that I had a expiry set and renewals only work, when there are no expires set. This should not only be explained in the Docs, but explicitly added as a field like "renewable Subscriptions" on the Product Setup Page and if you tick it, the Expire Field should dissapear. After I and the Support found out the Problem, I fixed my DB by writing new queries. The Woo Support didn't want to help in that and only told me to go to a agency. Sorry but for such a expensive Plugin this should atleast be considered to be passed to a Dev, to get a fix out for future Customers. Not everyone has the same 6 years DB Admin Knowledge like me... The Second is, that Subscriptions are getting uneditable after a week. You NEED to go to the DB and change the Subscriptions Details in Postmeta Table. That's some bad practice in my opinion! And even if you fix the DB, there is no way you can reschedule the Action Scheduler on the Frontend. You need to go back again in the DB and edit the Action Scheduler Table. Also when you're setting up your subscription Shop, you need to relay at the beginning heavy on the Docs and there are a lot. Even if you miss a small step, you could screw up hard. The positive is, that the Docs are really well written and that Team should get a reward! And last, sorry but for such a Plugin there should be Bulk Actions already developed and not posted on User Voice. That's a high priority for me as a Dev and would benefit the Customers. One of the bad reviews mentioned, that you need to get extensions for couple of other Functions. In my opinion that's fair. Nothing comes for free and they put a lot of work into their Code.

    Job half done. The plugin works well but it lakes basics functions. It’s like buying a car but with the doors you have to buy in addition. You need an other plugin (Enhancer for WooCommerce Subscriptions) to get the minimum functionalities subscriptions need.

    Example of a missing basic features:
    – no automatic customer renewal reminders! Customers are charged at the due date, to late to cancel their subscription.
    – Same with subscription expiry reminder.
    – Separate shipping cycle from billing cycle: the plugin permits to separate shipping from billing but no shipping order is generating at each cycle!
    – No limit to trial: any customer can order trial again and again. Best way to lose money!
    – Price update: price change will only affect new subscriptions. You can’t update existing customer price (or do it one by one, good luck).

    Seriously disappointing from Woocommerce team devs and for $200 (not counting the extra $80 for the enhancer plugin).

    This product worked great for about a year, then it stopped working. It's been a nightmare ever since to try to get someone to help fix this. The customer service is terrible. We got some responses via e-mail. . . we literally exchanged over 50 e-mails and couldn't get anyone to even remotely get close to fixing it. It has not worked for us for years now. We have just now tried to cancel all subscription related applications. Our bad for letting it go so long and letting them take our money using auto renewal. We have just gotten so used to processing subscriptions manually now, this fell off our radar. The app shows "Live" and active on the site but it has yet to work or process subscriptions correctly for years now. Extremely bad experience with this product and all "subscription" related products.

    This is not a great plugin, we purchased this plugin with the Membership by SkyVerge, $400 ish in total. Buyer beware. These are overpriced and and I feel lacking things like control over setting times for expiring subscriptions, confusing buyer email notifications, to really call this complete subscriber plugin. Was costly waste of our time. Many other plugins have better services for less than $100. However one star!! This plugin excels at mercilessly charging your clients Paypal account making them nice and mad at you.

    I've had this plugin for 15 months and still not put it live. Every now and again I come back to it and take the implementation a bit further and realise it is so limited I have to buy yet another add-on to make it usable. Necessary things it can’t do include (1) letting customers have the option to buy outright or have a subscription based on the same inventory. Pretty basic stuff, but you need to buy another plugin for that, (2) Pre payment emails to warn customers a payment is about to be taken, giving them the chance to cancel or add to it. It’s unthinkable to take payment without warning, so this is a serious omission, not just for physical goods stores. This is the one that has led me to put our subscriptions project on ice. You can buy other plugins to fill the gaps, but they all increase the cost. So this is NOT an out of the box solution. Setting up a subscriptions function is a big commitment that we have to keep going... unlike many plugins, there's no going back without annoying customers and probably losing their business. So I'm also concerned about risking that something with so many interdependencies goes wrong in a year's time.

    Literally, the WORST customer service I ever experienced. They take FOREVER to answer, I bought this product a few weeks ago and still didn't solve any of the issues I had. You can't call them, only via email and you will get an answer every 24h if you are lucky...It's ridiculous!

    The product has already saved our business. Allowing our customers to pay monthly instead of buying tickets has been amazing. It was extremely simple to setup and we haven't had any issues. We even migrated our website to a new location.

    I like the subscriptions extension. After initial installation, and set up, we ran into some issues, and contacted support. Sarah, Nick, Zach and Bernat from the support team did a great job investigating, they even took the time logging onto our own site to test, and eventually we realized that the issues were caused by our own plugin, and my lack of understanding of the product. I highly recommend this product, and the team behind it.

    I've been using woocommerce subscriptions for over three years, and several hundred thousand from my customers. I think it's easy to use, but get's a bit more complicated when trying to code custom integrations that trigger based off of specific subscriptions etc. However, if you're just trying to bill your customers on a recurring basis, it's excellent. Super easy integration with woocommerce memberships, and lots of other plugins. I've contact customer support on a number of occasions, and they've been very helpful.

    If you have a 1 year subscription, and the user renews early (before expiration), the user will be charged but the expiration date will not move forward. This makes no sense, but that’s how it works.

    Junk. According to support, because my site does not get a lot of traffic, the subscriptions will not fire properly because WP Cron is not running. So, I have to log in for them to fire, or set up a « daily cron trigger. » Essentially, I paid $200 for nothing, and then they want me to pay $200 ever year. Complete waste of money. Should be set it and forget it, but it’s not. Seek another solution.
