Foreword Thinking is a theme that as the name suggests has a home page that serves as an introduction to the rest of the website. My initial idea was to create a home page that resembled a magazine’s table of contents page with well presented blog post excerpts drawing you deeper into the content on other pages.
With alternating vibrant colour blocks (with colours that can be set in the neat theme options) for the featured posts and the date blocks the home page design never gets tired, together with minimal image styling your website should load super quick. If you flick through our 10 different theme styles you should find one that tickles you fancy. If not, customizing a style is a doddle – by changing the background image for example on the wood style to any other image can give your website a completely fresh and unique feel with the bear minimum of effort.
Framed neatly with a colour co-ordinated border around the browser window the theme design has almost a print design feel to it.
A clean, corporate white style
A completely widgetized sidebar, that can be housed on the left or the right of your content, means you have complete control of what functionality and navigation you want on you website. The theme comes packed with 7 custom Woo widgets, and has two home page modules available below the “table of contents” section where you can pull through content from any two wordpress pages you have created.
Wooden style with right sidebar and 4 featured posts
What more can we say, the theme should speak for itself so head on over to the demo to have a play or follow us to the purchase links below.
About
Lovely theme, clean white looks superb!
Well done! Looks like a very neat theme and it’s definitively different than most of the other themes out there. Good job!
Great work guys, keep the same way.
Thank you!
Mark,
I think the layout is clever, and somewhat non-traditional. I like the flexibility of the theme as a whole.
Great work.
Josh
Even though there hasn’t been a lot of comments (yet), I’m glad to see a recurring message in the comments in that Foreword Thinking is definitely something unique and offers our existing and prospective users even more choices!
Releasing more niche-type themes like this, obviously just increases the value of (especially) our club members even further, as they have such a wide variety to choose from.
This is the kind of design and creativity that I love to see from WooThemes…. very well done!
I have to say, I’m very glad that I canceled my subscription to the “themes club”. I was extremely happy with the first batch of themes I downloaded… but the latest additions are definitely lacking in the aesthetics department.
This one especially.
To be true I did not like this as much as the previous once , disappointed actually.
Hope you guys will hit back with more rocking themes. 🙂
@Josh – Every theme will not blow you away in the aesthetics department partly due to your personal taste and partly because some themes are released because they’re more unique in their functionality. Foreword Thinking might not be the best looking theme ever in your opinion, but it is definitely unique in every other aspect.
Again – we can’t please everyone (and every need / requirement) with every new theme release; and we don’t pretend to even try achieve that. 🙂
Not sure why my first comment was not approved because I love the theme. It’s different and I will renew my membership. I’m very happy it’s been exceptional value for money.
Thanks and Congratulations!
Robyn
PS. Yes I’m working on getting a Woo Theme up for the Web Hosting Site ASAP!
No changes suggested here. The wood one is very cool!
I like the clean, corporate white style. I’m a fan of clean templates.
Good Work guys!
Very clean design. I will have to come back and explore some more.
i totally stunned with the wooden style, cant believe how smooth and organized this looks.
i would love to see this with neon colours and grey wood or metal background if thats possible somehow?
the theme is different to your others work and so is the love of the ppl that take the time to comment and help you here. what i can say, i really like this work.
whats the trick with the different colours each post – every category another post, is this a plugin or done with id´s ?
its not only that you inspire me with the works, i can learn a lot too
Tom: Glad you like the theme. We’ll hopefully launch some new styles for the theme when time permits, a neon colour style sounds fun.
The different colour posts/dates are not category specific. Within the theme options you can specify a few colours you would like randomly displayed on page refresh.
We are still investigating different colours/styling for categories, and if we find a simple solution we’ll certainly be playing with some theme concepts around the idea.
why is there no documentation for this theme? what good is it bringing me to this page?
not impressed….
Normally I don’t leave a comment but your post was excellent, well written and informative.
This is a great example of thinking outside the square to produce a WordPress theme that’s a bit different from everything that’s come before it.
I’ve added the theme to our list of the best themes on the planet at bestwpthemes.com. Well done – again!
I have to say, I could not agree with you in 100%, but that’s just my IMHO, which could be very wrong.
p.s. You have a very good template for your blog. Where have you got it from?
I would like to know if this theme is internationalized? Hope it is, so i wont have to do that.
