Sort Products in Cart and Order is a WooCommerce extension that lets you control the order in which products appear in the cart, order summary, and order emails. Instead of the default order in which items were added, you can arrange them alphabetically, by price, SKU, category, attribute, weight, custom field, and more — making the purchase journey clearer for customers and order preparation faster for store owners. You can also add extra sorting options to the shop and archive pages and override the sorting method for individual orders.
This plugin enables WooCommerce store owners to customize the order of products displayed in the cart, order summary, and order emails. This can enhance the shopping experience by arranging products in a logical sequence. Store owners can also view order items in an appropriate sequence, which helps simplify order preparation. Additionally, the plugin lets you add extra sorting options to the shop and product archive pages and override the sorting method for individual orders.
Simplify the order management process by automatically sorting products within an order and in order emails. For stores with multiple items per order, this feature ensures products are neatly organized, helping store owners quickly and efficiently prepare orders without confusion.
With products sorted in a consistent order, the purchase experience becomes more intuitive for both customers and store owners. From browsing the cart to finalizing the order to receiving the confirmation email, a well-organized product list ensures seamless navigation and improved clarity throughout the entire purchase process.
Override the global sorting method for individual orders directly from the order edit screen. When enabled, a “Custom Product Sorting” meta box appears in the sidebar, letting store owners choose a different sorting method — or a different custom field or attribute — for that specific order only. Leave it as “Use Global Settings” to inherit the store-wide default. This is ideal for orders that need special handling without changing the experience for every customer.
Add more sorting choices to the “Sort by” dropdown on the shop page and product archive pages. Pick the options you want to expose from the plugin settings, and shoppers can then re-order the product grid by name, SKU, date, menu order, weight, or a custom field — right alongside the default WooCommerce sorting options. Products without a value for SKU, weight, or the custom field are kept in the results and listed last, so nothing disappears from the grid.
All the sorting options are available as both Ascending/Descending.
