BAM produces super-soft and sustainable bamboo clothing.
This environmentally-conscious UK brand has been the go-to choice for sustainable gym and training clothing, yoga clothing, baselayers, boxers, and socks over the past decade. But why bamboo?
The clothing industry is traditionally one of the worst offenders when it comes to pollution. Bamboo absorbs five times more carbon than hardwood trees. It only requires half the land that cotton does to produce the same amount of fiber. Crucially, it works well as a performance fabric, keeps athletes feeling fresh.

BAM wants to prove that it’s possible for a clothing company to be impact positive and have some fun along the way.
They’re certainly setting the bar high: “We’ve set goals for zero waste to landfill, zero pollution, and zero wasted water – all by 2030.”
Founder David is a medal-winning pole-vaulter, launching himself to glory at the World Masters Games in 2017 – “the Olympics for older people,” he laughs.
In search of a viable and environmentally sustainable business, David discovered bamboo back in 2006. He started out running the business from his garage; today, BAM has swelled to a team of 40. Despite this growth, the core values remain the same. “The environment is our highest priority,” David reasserts. “It’s what we got into business for in the first place.”
