In this chapter, we’ll guide you through installing the Skinelle theme on your WordPress website. If you encounter any issues during installation, please don’t hesitate to contact our support team for assistance.

While installation services are generally outside the scope of standard theme support, we offer a one-time free installation service for all verified customers. Installing the Theme

Once you’ve downloaded the skinelle.zip file, you’re ready to install the theme on your WordPress site.

Using WordPress (Recommended)

1. In your WordPress dashboard, go to Appearance → Themes.
2. Click the Add New Theme button at the top.
3. Select Upload Theme next to the “Add Themes” title.
4. Click Choose File, browse your computer, and select the skinelle.zip file.
5. Click Install Now to start the installation.
6. Once complete, you’ll see a message confirming that the theme was installed successfully.

Installing the Theme via FTP

1. Unzip the skinelle.zip file on your computer.
2. Connect to your web host using an FTP client such as FileZilla.
3. Navigate to the wp-content/themes directory on your server.
4. Upload the extracted skinelle folder into this directory.
5. After the upload is complete, return to your WordPress dashboard.
6. Go to Appearance → Themes and confirm that Skinelle appears in the list of installed themes.

While Skinelle can technically function without WooCommerce, it is highly recommended that you install WooCommerce to fully utilize the theme’s product showcase, shop layouts, and cart features.

Steps to Install WooCommerce

1. In your WordPress dashboard, go to Plugins → Add New.
2. In the search field, type WooCommerce and press Enter.
3. Find the WooCommerce plugin in the results and click Install Now.
4. Once installation is complete, click Activate to enable the plugin.

Before activating Skinelle, we recommend that you install and activate WooCommerce to ensure full compatibility with all product blocks and layout patterns.

Steps to Activate Skinelle

1. Make sure WooCommerce is active on your site. If prompted, follow the onboarding wizard to complete the basic store setup.
2. Navigate to Appearance → Themes in your WordPress dashboard.
3. Locate Skinelle in your installed themes list.
4. Hover over the Skinelle theme preview and click Activate.
5. A confirmation message will appear, indicating that Skinelle is now the active theme on your website.

Using Demo Content

Demo content is a great way to get started quickly and see how your website will look with real data. Skinelle’s homepages and other pages are built using Block Patterns, so you don’t need to import an entire demo site. Instead, you can choose to add only the pages or sections you need by selecting the relevant Starter pattern.

Starter Patterns

We recommend importing demo products and blog posts only if your website is brand new or doesn’t yet have any content. If you already have your own products or blog posts, you can simply use the available page patterns to create and design the pages you need.

Demo Shop Products

Skinelle includes beautifully crafted demo products designed to help you visualize your skincare store’s structure and layout. These demo products are fully compatible with WooCommerce and showcase how your product grids, single product pages, and categories will appear using the theme’s design.

Key Points:

• Demo products are optional — import them only if your store doesn’t have actual products yet.
• They help you preview the theme’s features such as product listings, category layouts, and shop sections.
• You can replace demo products with your real ones at any time without affecting the design or layout.

To help you get started quickly, Skinelle supports a one-click demo import feature. This allows you to import all demo content — including Home pages, Static pages, Blog posts, and Menus — so your site looks exactly like our Skinelle Live Demo.

This process will set up your website just like the demo version, saving you time and giving you a clear starting point to customize your store.

Steps to Import Demo Content

1. Install the Theme and Plugins Ensure that you’ve installed and activated the Skinelle theme, along with all the recommended plugins under Appearance → Install Plugins.
2. Access the Import Tool Navigate to Appearance → Import Demo Data in your WordPress dashboard.
   
3. Run the Import Click on the Import Demo Data button. The process will automatically import demo homepages, shop pages, blog posts, menus, and widgets.
4. Wait for Completion Sit back and relax — the import process may take a few minutes depending on your server speed. Once it’s done, you’ll see a confirmation message indicating that the demo content has been successfully imported.

After the import is complete, your site will look like the Skinelle demo, and you can start customizing it with your own products, brand colors, and images.

Updating the Theme

Keeping your Skinelle theme up to date ensures you have access to the latest design improvements, new features, and important security fixes. Updating regularly helps maintain compatibility with the latest versions of WordPress and WooCommerce.

There are multiple ways to update the theme depending on how it was originally installed.

Recommended Update Methods

Via FTP

1. Unzip the latest skinelle.zip file on your computer.
2. Connect to your hosting server using an FTP client such as FileZilla.
3. Navigate to the wp-content/themes directory.
4. Upload the updated skinelle folder, replacing the existing one.
5. Once the upload is complete, go back to your WordPress dashboard to confirm the update.

Important Notes

• Backup first: Always create a backup of your website (both files and database) before performing any updates.
• Child theme users: If you are using a child theme for customizations, your changes will remain safe and unaffected by the update.

Homepage Setup

Skinelle includes 2 beautifully designed homepage layouts, each crafted as a block pattern. This setup allows you to create your homepage quickly and effortlessly — simply select the pattern you love, and it will load the complete homepage layout instantly. Each layout has been carefully designed to suit different styles of skincare and beauty stores, giving your website a refined and professional look.

Since all homepages are built as patterns, you can assign them to a page with just a few clicks — no need to assemble sections manually.

Creating and Assigning Your Homepage

Follow these simple steps to create and assign your homepage:

Step 1: Create a Homepage

• Go to Pages → Add New.
• When prompted with the “Choose a Pattern” pop-up, you can select from the available Skinelle homepage patterns — each one is a complete, ready-to-use layout. This makes it easy to set up your homepage instantly without building it block by block.
• Alternatively, close the pop-up if you prefer to start with a blank page.
• Give your page a title, such as Home.
• Click Publish to save it.

💡 Tip: Selecting a full homepage pattern at this stage automatically loads a complete layout, allowing you to begin customizing right away.

Step 2: Assign a Template to the Home Page

• Open the page you created.
• In the right sidebar, under the Page tab, find the Template option.
• Click Change Template, then select one of the following:
  • Canvas Template – Use this if you want to manually insert a separate header and footer for this page. 
  • Page No Title Template – Use this to apply the global header and footer across your entire site. 
• Click Preview to see how your homepage looks with the chosen template.

Add Patterns to Your Page

You can further customize your homepage by adding more patterns.

Each complete homepage layout is available as a single pattern, so you can load it instantly — or mix and match smaller section patterns (like banners, hero sliders, featured products, or testimonials) to design your ideal beauty store homepage.

• Open the Block Inserter (+) in the editor.
• Navigate to Patterns → Skinelle.
• Choose your preferred Home pattern (e.g., Home v1, Home v2, Home v3, Home v4, or Home v5).

About the Header

The header in Skinelle is fully block-based and can be customized through the Site Editor. Each homepage pattern comes with its own header style, carefully designed to match that homepage’s visual tone and layout.

• Go to Appearance → Editor → Templates → Header.
• Select from the available Header patterns or customize an existing one using block controls.
• You can modify elements like the logo, navigation menu, search bar, mini cart, and account icon directly within the editor.

This flexibility lets you create a stylish and functional header that perfectly aligns with your skincare brand’s look and feel.

Creating a Blog Page

To set up a dedicated page for your blog posts:

• Go to Pages → Add New.
• Title the page Blog.
• Keep the Template set to Default.
• Click Publish.

Once you’ve created your Home and Blog pages, it’s time to set them as your site’s default pages in WordPress.

• Go to Settings → Reading in your WordPress dashboard.
• Under Your homepage displays, select A static page.
• For Homepage, choose the Home page you created.
• For Posts page, select the Blog page.
• Click Save Changes to apply the settings.

Accessing the Navigation

• Go to Appearance → Editor → Navigation.
• You’ll see a list of all existing navigation menus used across your site.
• Select an existing menu to edit, or click Add New to create a fresh navigation menu for your store.

Editing the Menu

• Click any menu item to rename it or link it to a page, product category, or custom URL.
• Use the + (Add Block) button to add new links or create dropdowns for organized navigation.
• Drag and drop menu items to reorder them.
• To create submenus, simply nest items beneath a parent link — perfect for organizing skincare routines, beauty tips, or product types.

Assigning the Menu

• Once your navigation menu is ready, go to Appearance → Editor → Patterns → All Template Parts.
• Open the Header template part.
• Replace or assign the Navigation block with the one you created.

Adding Megamenu

Install MAS Static Content Plugin

• Go to Plugins → Add New.
• Search for MAS Static Content.
• Click Install Now.
• Once the installation is complete, click Activate.

Create a Static Content Block

• Navigate to Static Contents in your WordPress dashboard.
• Click Add New.
• Enter a descriptive name for your block — for example, “Skincare Megamenu”, “Beauty Categories Megamenu”, or “Shop Megamenu”.
• Using the Gutenberg block editor, design the layout of your megamenu. You can add:

• From the dropdown menu, select the Shop page you just created.

Accessing and Editing the Checkout Page

• Go to Pages → All Pages and open the Checkout page (automatically created by WooCommerce).
• You can use the block editor to add personalized touches such as banners, trust badges, or special offers above or below the checkout form.
• To edit the layout globally, navigate to Appearance → Editor → Templates → Checkout.

Key Features of the Checkout Page

• Billing & Shipping Details: Customers can easily fill in their contact and delivery information.
• Order Summary: Displays all selected products with quantities, pricing, and totals.
• Payment Methods: Supports all payment gateways configured in WooCommerce.

Site Logo

To display your brand logo, Skinelle uses the standard Site Logo or Image block.

Steps to Change the Logo

• Navigate to Appearance → Editor.
• In the Site Editor, click on the section that contains your Header.
• Select the current logo image.
• From the toolbar or sidebar, click Replace or Upload.
• Choose from:
  • Upload: Add a new logo from your computer.
  • Media Library: Pick one already uploaded.
• Adjust the logo size using the Image Width option in the sidebar.
• Click Save to apply your changes.

💡 Tip: Use a transparent PNG or SVG logo for a clean and premium look across all screen sizes.

Header

The header is where your brand’s first impression begins — featuring your logo, navigation, and quick-access icons.

To Edit the Header

• Go to Appearance → Editor → Patterns → All Template Parts → Header.
• Edit it using the block editor, including elements such as:
  • Logo
  • Navigation Menu
  • Search Bar
  • Mini Cart
  • Account / Login Icon
• You can also choose a Header pattern to instantly apply a pre-styled layout matching Skinelle’s modern look.

💡 Tip: Each homepage variation includes a matching header style — but feel free to mix and match for a unique design.

Primary Color

Your color palette defines the mood of your store. Skinelle allows you to customize the Primary Color directly from the Site Editor.

Steps to Edit the Primary Color

• Go to Appearance → Editor.
• In the left panel, click on Styles → Colors.
• Under the Theme Palette, choose your desired shade or enter a hex code.
• To add a new custom color, click + (Add) and pick a tone that suits your brand.
• Click Save when done.

💡 Tip: Choose soft, elegant tones (like blush, rose, or cream) to reflect beauty and calmness — while maintaining text readability.

Font

Typography brings personality to your brand. Skinelle lets you refine fonts to maintain a classy and balanced reading experience.

Steps to Customize Fonts

• Go to Appearance → Editor → Styles → Typography.
• You can adjust font styles globally or for specific elements like:
  • Body Text
  • Headings (H1–H6)
  • Buttons
  • Links
• Modify font family, size, weight, line-height, and letter spacing.
• Under Font size presets, adjust or define sizes for Small, Medium, and Large text.
• Click Save when your customizations are complete.

💡 Tip: Stick to two complementary fonts — one elegant serif or modern sans-serif for headings, and one clean font for body text.

The footer provides a balanced closing to every page, perfect for adding important links and building brand trust.

• Navigate to Appearance → Editor → Patterns → All Template Parts → Footer.

Where is my license key?

The Skinelle theme does not require a license key to function.
Simply install and activate the theme, and you’re ready to begin customizing your beauty store.

What is the logo font?

We didn’t use a logo font; we used an SVG logo in the Skinelle demo because it offers an elegant and minimal aesthetic, ideal for beauty and skincare brands. You can easily replace it with any logo that matches your brand’s style by editing the logo text or uploading a logo image in the Header section.

Does Skinelle support multi-vendors?

No, Skinelle is a WooCommerce-based theme and supports all core WooCommerce features.
Multi-vendor management is not a built-in WooCommerce feature.
However, you can use third-party plugins such as Dokan or WC Vendors to enable multi-vendor functionality.
