It is with great pleasure that we can FINALLY announce the launch of our awesomely unique niche blog design for bands and musicians, entitled Backstage.
Backstage was first conceptualized by the talented British web designer extraordinaire – Elliot Jay Stocks way back in June. We thought Elliot was well suited for this kind of design as he himself is quite a musical genius.
Fox has spent the past few months, off and on, hard at work creating powerful widget goodness and theme options for Backstage. With custom category templates for the discography, latest news, video and image archives this theme really helps empower artists and bands with the tools they need to promote themselves. An upcoming shows widget helps manage your events, whilst a home page featured slider can easily be enabled/disabled via the theme options panel.

Slaved away at this one. Had to contact a friend of mines band so that I can get some legit content on this demo. And it panned out really well. The demo looks awesome. 🙂
BUT, this theme is not only for bands or musicians in my opinion. The fact that it uses such powerful and easy-to-use widgets is gonna make this a killer news theme, if you happen to see it that way.
Can’t wait to see the mods, as always. 😀
This really is a sweet theme, and I totally agree with Foxinni – this thing has legs.
I’ve been fortunate to play around with it as a Beta Tester, and right away I started seeing all kinds of possibilities that go beyond band sites (as soon as I have a demo up, I’ll share it).

So is that nav showing categories only ? Can it integrate pages ?
As in all of our themes, we have included the functionality to switch the navigation between the display of pages or categories. We have also been working on a new custom navigation function, which will allow you to mix & order pages, categories & direct links in one navigation (this should be ready in mid-January).
