Frequently asked questions

Where will my customers see their tracking information?

Shipment Tracking adds tracking details to your WooCommerce orders and shows them where customers already look. Once you add tracking to an order, the information appears in order emails, on the order tracking page, and on the order view page in the customer's account. This gives shoppers a clear, self-service way to follow their delivery without contacting you.

Which shipping carriers does Shipment Tracking support out of the box?

Shipment Tracking generates automatic tracking links for many major carriers, including Australia Post, Canada Post, City Link, DHL, DPD, Fastway South Africa, FedEx, OnTrac, ParcelForce, Polish shipping providers, Royal Mail, SAPO, TNT Express (consignment and reference), UPS, and USPS. When you select one of these providers and add a tracking number, the correct tracking link is created for you.

What if my shipping carrier is not on the list?

You can still use Shipment Tracking with carriers that are not in the built-in list. Choose the Custom Provider option when adding tracking to an order, then enter the carrier's name and the full link to their tracking page. This lets you support niche or regional carriers while giving customers the same in-order and email tracking experience.

Can I add more than one tracking number to a single order?

Yes. Shipment Tracking supports multiple tracking numbers on the same order, which is helpful when an order ships in more than one package or from different locations. When you add tracking details, you can select Add Tracking Number to include additional entries, and each one appears for the customer.

Does tracking information get added to order emails automatically?

Yes. After you add tracking details to an order, that information is included in the order's email notifications, such as the Completed Order email sent when you mark the order as complete. Tracking details are also carried into other status-change notifications and Order Actions emails for that order, so customers receive their tracking link as part of your normal order communications.

Do I need to configure anything to start using Shipment Tracking?

Shipment Tracking is designed to work right after installation, with no configuration required to get up and running. You can start adding tracking numbers to orders straight away, and the tracking links and customer-facing display are handled for you. This makes it a straightforward option for stores that want to add tracking without a setup process.

Can I add tracking numbers from my phone?

Yes. Shipment Tracking works with the WooCommerce Mobile App, so you can add tracking numbers to orders while you are away from your computer. This is useful if you pack and ship on the go and want to update orders as they leave your workspace.

How do I add a tracking number to a WooCommerce order?

Open the order under WooCommerce > Orders, then use the Shipment Tracking panel on the order screen. Choose your provider (or select Custom Provider), enter the tracking number, optionally set a shipping date, and save the tracking details. Marking the order as Complete at the same time sends the Completed Order email with the tracking link included.

Can Shipment Tracking help keep customers informed after they buy?

Yes. Shipment Tracking is designed to help you share delivery information at the moment customers want it, by placing tracking links in order emails and in their account. Giving shoppers a clear way to follow their package can help improve the post-purchase experience and build trust through transparency.

Can external shipping or fulfillment tools add tracking numbers for me?

Yes. Shipment Tracking supports adding tracking information programmatically through the WooCommerce REST API, so connected shipping and fulfillment systems can create tracking entries on orders without manual entry. This is helpful for higher-volume stores that generate tracking numbers in another tool and want them reflected in WooCommerce.

Is Shipment Tracking compatible with High-Performance Order Storage (HPOS)?

Yes. Shipment Tracking is compatible with WooCommerce High-Performance Order Storage, which stores orders in their own database tables to support store performance. It also works with cart and checkout blocks, so it fits into modern WooCommerce stores.

Who is Shipment Tracking best for?

Shipment Tracking is best for merchants who buy or print their shipping labels outside WooCommerce, for example at a carrier counter, through a separate shipping platform, or via a fulfillment provider, and want to add the resulting tracking numbers to their orders. You can add tracking manually on the order screen, on the go through the WooCommerce Mobile App, or programmatically through the REST API, and it then appears in order emails, the order tracking page, and the customer's account. It suits stores that want a straightforward way to share tracking without changing how they buy postage.

When should I not use Shipment Tracking?

If you buy and print your shipping labels directly in WooCommerce with WooCommerce Shipping, tracking numbers are generated and saved to your orders automatically and are included in the Completed Order email, so a separate tracking extension may not be needed. Shipment Tracking is most useful when you ship or buy labels outside WooCommerce and want to add tracking numbers to orders yourself. If your goal is to purchase discounted UPS, USPS, or DHL labels and get tracking in one step, WooCommerce Shipping is the better starting point.

It works, but that's all. No new features are coming out. Feature requests doesn't seem to be looked at. Besides that this plugin should be part of woocommerce core. Something simple like a track order button on the order page (not the detail page).

Hey purovitalis - Thanks for posting this review and sharing that feedback about how Shipment Tracking functionality could potentially be added to core. There is a Feature Request for that suggestion that you can add votes to, which would be helpful as we're currently working on adding more essential commerce features into our core platform.

Overnight, the plugin will no longer automatically submit tracking information to Paypal. Tech support is always a dead end. Don't fall for it.

I can't get the plugin to connect to Royal Mail and automatically import tracking numbers, like Parcel Panel can. This is time consuming and annoying, not to mention this is overpriced for the functionality, or ease of use. AI support is entirely useless and when trying to connect to human support, I keep getting error messages. Frustrating.

I'm writing this, because the support does give ma some senseless AI answers. When I go to send a ticket, it says I need to load the chat right hand button. Doing this I'm ending up in something like "conversation can't be loaded'. So I just want to open a ticket, which I can find later somewhere to see whats going on. But after doing all the uploading status report and chatting with the AI, it is all lost???
