Dynamic Metal Prices is a WooCommerce extension for stores that price products from gold, silver, or platinum weight. It calculates each product’s regular price from metal weight, your markup, and optional fixed extras—using live market rates or prices you set yourself.
Calculated price follows: metal price per gram × weight, plus your markup percentage, plus any fixed extra. For gold, karat adjusts purity, or you can use global per-karat prices when configured.

No. You can set manual gold, silver, and platinum prices per gram in your store currency. API keys are only required when you choose a live price source (GoldAPI.io, GoldPricez, MetalpriceAPI, or SiftingIO).

Yes. Each variation can have its own metal type, weight, karat (gold), markup, fixed extra, and weight unit. Bulk updates include variations and refresh variable product price ranges.
Yes. Category-level defaults apply when product fields are empty, so new items in that category pick up your standard weight, karat, and markup.
You choose the interval in settings (from every 15 minutes up to daily, plus other options in the admin). Scheduled updates use WordPress cron, which runs when your site receives traffic. Free API plans have hourly limits; use a longer interval or manual pricing if you hit rate limits.
Front-end pages are not weighed down by constant API calls. Live rates are fetched on update cycles and cached; shortcodes use cached rates and avoid showing raw errors to shoppers during outages. Bulk updates batch work and reuse fetched rates where possible.
Prices use your WooCommerce store currency. Some API sources convert USD spot data into your currency when needed.
Updating metal-based regular prices is designed to leave existing sale prices in place when you use the built-in update actions.
Yes. The extension declares compatibility with custom order tables (HPOS) and cart/checkout blocks.
Dynamic Metal Prices uses the same product meta keys as Dynamic Gold Price for WooCommerce Products. Existing weight, karat, markup, and fixed extra values are preserved; a migration tool is available in the admin if you need it.
