What’s new in WooCommerce 11.0: Faster product pages, analytics updates, and more

WooCommerce 11.0 has launched with product page and Order screen speed updates, changes to how certain metrics are counted, checkout recovery testing, and more. Read on to learn what’s included.

Variable product pages and Order screens speed up

Performance was a top priority for the 11.0 release, and we’ve made a few key changes you and your customers will see.

  1. Large stores will benefit from an Orders-screen optimization that makes it faster to query your orders without timeouts or empty search counts.
  2. We’re running a product object caching experiment, which is available by default for new stores. It makes variable products load roughly 9–12% faster on product pages, and bundle products process 6–12% faster during checkout.

Analytics tracking is more reliable

With 11.0, you can see the status of your historical data imports, and rerun any that didn’t finish. When you first set up Analytics, WooCommerce imports your past orders so your reports cover your full history. That import can now be checked and rerun right from your dashboard. If you’re about to build a report for a board meeting or a season review, take a minute to confirm your history imported completely.

Refunds now count in the period they happened. When you look at net sales for July, you’ll see all of July’s refunds, making month-by-month comparisons more trustworthy. If your developer built custom reporting for you, mention this change — it applies to the newest version of the sales report, and they’ll know whether your setup uses it.

Session counts represent real visitors. Analytics is stricter about what counts as a visitor, so bots and fleeting connections don’t pad your traffic numbers. You’ll see sessions dip slightly after updating — that’s expected. But you’ll start seeing more accurate conversion rates.

Guest customers can now connect their past orders to a new account

When someone buys from you as a guest, then creates an account later, they’ll see past orders in their order history. They simply confirm ownership of their email address, and their history connects to their account.

If you have meaningful guest checkout volume, this translates to fewer support tickets and gives returning customers a reason to make an account.

You can test Checkout Recovery messaging

In 11.0, you can join our Checkout Recovery beta to test your recovery messaging and see what customers respond to before updating your emails en masse. It works from order in certain statuses and your developer team can widen or narrow which ones qualify to match how your store uses them. It ships with one-click unsubscribe and privacy handling built in, so the emails you send meet the standards customers expect.

You can turn it on under WooCommerceSettingsAdvancedFeatures.

Also in 11.0

  • The block email editor adds Vimeo, TikTok, and Dailymotion embeds. Videos show up as clickable thumbnails with play buttons instead of plain links, so your emails look the way you’d want them to.
  • If you sell internationally and your checkout’s phone field has been rejecting formats that are perfectly valid in other countries, 11.0 gives your developer proper tools to fix that for the markets you sell into.
  • Stock held for an unfinished checkout now stays reserved for 60 minutes by default. If you run flash sales or drops where reserved stock matters, this is worth a conversation with your developer about whether 60 minutes suits your store — the hold length can be set to whatever fits.

Before you update

WooCommerce 11.0 retires the experimental Product Editor that some stores have been trying out in beta. Your products and product data stay exactly where they are. But if anyone on your team was using the beta editor, it’ll go back to the standard product editor experience.

Running custom extensions? Ask whoever maintains them on your team to check for anything built on the beta editor.
