What’s new for merchants in WooCommerce 11.2

WooCommerce 11.2 is here with some exciting new updates. Here’s everything you need to know about the changes that’ll impact how you run your store.

Product CSV importer matches by global unique id

Got a price sheet from a supplier that only lists UPCs? You can import it as-is. With “Update existing products” turned on, the importer matches each row by ID, then SKU, then GTIN, UPC, EAN, or ISBN.

Ask for a date at checkout

If your store uses the Checkout block, you can now ask shoppers for a date during checkout, such as their preferred delivery date or their birthday. Shoppers pick the date with their phone’s or browser’s own date picker, and you can limit the dates they can choose. Adding the field takes a short code snippet.

Manage your order withdrawal emails

Sell to customers in the EU? You can now configure both emails sent when a customer requests to withdraw an order: the acknowledgment the customer receives and the notification your store gets. Add your own message in WooCommerce > Settings > Emails, then preview it, choose who gets notified, or turn either email off.

Faster catalog and admin screens

Whether your catalog has 5 products or 50,000, you can now reorder them. Additionally, stores with variable products load and check out faster. When you’re pulling report totals, they load with fewer database queries — their memory use no longer grows with customer count.

Keep filters in view while shoppers scroll

Turn on sticky positioning for the Product Filters block, and filters stay on screen as shoppers scroll a long category page. That way, they won’t have to scroll back to the top to narrow their search.

Several other blocks got new style options, too:

  • Quantity selectors, including the one in the cart: borders, shadows, colors, and rounded corners
  • Product images: borders
  • Filter chips: font and spacing controls, plus rounded corners

Set these once for the whole store under Appearance > Editor > Styles > Blocks, or adjust them block by block.

What might look different after you update

  • Account emails: If you were CC’ing or BCC’ing yourself on password reset, new account, or email confirmation messages, those copies will stop. Those emails carry login links, so only the customer gets them now.
  • Download links: Standard download links work as before. A rare custom or imported link with malformed data may stop working. If a customer reports one, reissue the link from the order.
  • Shop managers can no longer edit users who also hold certain other roles, such as forum or membership roles. Your WP Admin can update those roles.

For your developer

11.2 includes security improvements, so be sure to update every store you have. It also includes a database update, so take a backup first.
