Manage Payments Directly in the WooCommerce Dashboard

Running your online store just got a little easier thanks to our new service, WooPayments: a payment processor, managed right in your WordPress dashboard.

Now everything you need to run your online store is in one place: One login, one customer service department, and one platform to learn.

WooPayments is also good for your bottom line. Customers can pay for products and services without leaving your site, which means more of them will complete their purchase. That’s a win for your business!

With WooPayments, you can:

  • Accept credit and debit cards directly on your site.
  • Benefit from a simple fee structure.
  • Receive funds in your bank account two days after a purchase, or within minutes using Instant Payouts

WooPayments has no setup charge and no monthly fees. You pay 2.9% + $0.30 for each transaction made with U.S.-issued credit or debit cards. For cards issued outside the U.S., there’s an additional 1% fee.

There is a $15 fee for each dispute, which is refunded if you win the dispute.

The first payout for new accounts has a seven-business-day waiting period. After that, WooPayments bundles daily revenue into a single payout, which is automatically transferred to your bank account two business days later, so you’ll never need to log into an extra account to get your money.

Additionally, eligible merchants can get immediate access to their funds using Instant Payouts. For a small additional fee of 1.5%, you can request an instant payout, and your funds will be in your nominated account within 30 minutes – including nights, weekends, and holidays.

For more information, see our FAQ on payout schedules.

  1. How would one choose between this and Stripe?

    • Hi David,

Good question. I’d put forward the case for convenience and ease-of-use for both merchants AND customers: as Paul mentions, everything is under one roof with WooCommerce Payments.

Payouts, refunds, and transactions are managed directly from your site’s dashboard, and customers can pay for products and services without being redirected off-site.

Revenue is automatically transferred to a merchant’s bank account after two business days, meaning you’ll no longer need to log in to an extra account to get paid.

      Thanks for your comment!

  2. I love WOO, however this is NO different than Stripe or Paypal. If they want to enter the market they need to give a better offer, otherwise this will go nowhere.

    • Hi Robert – thanks for your comment.

We believe there are several great incentives for merchants to switch to WooCommerce Payments.

Firstly, merchants won’t need to toggle between their store and a separate payment processor – they can manage transactions directly from their own dashboard. Super convenient, and a far more seamless experience.

This experience will certainly be more convenient for customers. Instead of redirecting them to Stripe or PayPal, they can now make payments directly on-site. This should help lower cart abandonment too, which often occurs when shoppers are redirected.

WooCommerce Payments also automatically transfers revenue into merchants’ bank accounts – no more logging into a third-party to manually receive your earnings. That’s a pretty big win in my book. 🙂

      Hope this helps!

    Thank you for the information.

    But how compliant is it?

    Thanks in advance.

  5. Just got WooCommerce Payments set up on my website. There was zero friction to do so and took all of 5 minutes, and that included performing a test purchase.

Previously I was only accepting payment via PayPal, and while that’s pretty much the standard payment processor that most consumers in my industry use, I still felt that with the total # of abandoned carts I see on a weekly basis that I might be losing some customers by not offering choice.

Even though it says it on the checkout screen, if you’re not a PayPal user, you may not realize that you don’t have to have a PayPal account to make a credit card payment. So I’m hoping by having a more prominent “Enter Your Card Details” section on the checkout page, that will lead to more purchases.

It’s also worth noting that after activating WooCommerce Payments, PayPal is still an option. A customer simply selects the PayPal radio button if that’s how they prefer to transact. There’s literally nothing to lose by adding managed payments to your website. The plug-in is free, it’s dead easy to set up, and you don’t have to choose between WC or PayPal — it all works together. /my2cents
