Had some technical issues with the plugin but their team was able to identify and fix the issue with an update. We haven't sold any gift cards, but sending complimentary gift cards and coupons has been working great for us. They are easy to make with plenty of options. Overall we are very pleased with this plugin.

A way to track how much in store credit is pending and used would be a great feature.

What didn't you like about this product?
Annoying attention-seeking nag notifications just give the plugin the wrong kind of attention and make me re-consider uninstalling it just to remove the nags that can't be dismissed. Just don't use notifications for review begging, it's not cool and your plugins will sell on their own merits without nags: "Remind me after a month Never show again Awesome, you successfully auto-generated a coupon! Are you having a great experience with WooCommerce Smart Coupons so far? Please consider leaving a review ! If things aren't going quite as expected, we're happy to help -- please reach out to our support team." "Never show again" just doesn't work - it keeps coming back.
How could it be improved?
Just don’t use notifications for nags for reviews or support links – completely unnecessary and annoying.
And make the nag dismissal actually work – but because nag-dismissal has always been unreliable un WP Admin – just don’t put them there in the first place. This kind of thing should be banned in all plugins on all platforms, it has no place in a busy developer’s world.
Don’t even dare to make some vague attempt at palming the problem off on plugin conflicts or what is your system setup and admin access requests – just remove the nags.
I’ll update my review when you remove the nags – until that time I highly recommend anyone that doesn’t like plugin nags avoids this plugin until they grow up.

What do you think about this product?
I need more personalization. Is not fully compatible with WPML. I need to add texts and traslate some things but I am forced to change core files to do that.
How could it be improved?
Add more options, translations compatibilities and you need to add e-mail CSS customizer because it looks horrible in mailing notifications.

What is great about this product?
This plugin allows us to offer gift cards and coupons exactly how we need to. Well thought out. Service and support is stellar too!
How could it be improved?
I would like to see a method of giving gift cards that can override the “Individual Use Only” coupons. If we have a sale or someone has a code, we always to Individual Use Only so that they cant “stack”. But this has a problem when using Gift Certificates which are essentially coupons. We need a way for people to use their Gift Codes with a coupon that is set to Individual Use Only.

Works well. Does what it says.
How could it be improved?
I wish I could adjust the wording of the emails that get sent notifying the user that they received a coupon. Also, there seems to be an incompatibility with Handsome Checkout that forced me to use CSS to hide the questions about where to send the coupon codes, because it wasn’t working.

How could it be improved?
A simple list view for a Specific Coupon’s Usage or Store Credit Usage history is missing. Sometimes admin needs to know where a specific coupon has been used. Currently this requires orders to be exported and filtered for the coupon in question. Especially Store Credit Users would find it handy to see the history of credit received and used, which would avoid such queries to admin, who also do not have a fast and easy way to provide this information. If a coupon or store credit is used to purchase store credit, error messages display the file structure of the hosting which is actually a security risk. Rather than simply hiding the error, we dont think customers should be allowed to use coupons to buy store credit at all.

What do you think about this product?
Seems like a great concept but it's got issues. The Bulk Generate generates a file that is then not allowed to be imported if you need the coupon to be limited to 1 usage and limited to 1 product in the cart. The documentation was updated to 3.4 but the download wasn't available yet for 3.4. Otherwise, it seems like a great idea, just wish it would live up to the promises it's making. Now I have to go through the 250 gift cards I just bulk generated and manually one-by-one select that it needs to be limited to one product and one usage.
How could it be improved?
Get it together and don’t overpromise and then release a buggy product.

What didn't you like about this product?
Having great difficulty setting up the product. For example, trying to get rid of the Visit Store link in emails, seems impossible to do. Also, I have 1 gift certificate I would like to send. I've set it so that I can send the certificate to others. In the cart checkout page, the option to send to one person gives me the ability to send 1 gift card to multiple people, the option to send to different people gives me no place to send to anyone. And, it defaults to the word "coupon" everywhere, took me hours to figure out and then replace that word in multiple places through a translation plugin. Sorry, a gift certificate or card is not a coupon. The gift certificates, ahem, coupons themselves look pretty amateurish - and you can't copy and paste the gift code. Lots of promise, but the fine detail needs some work.
How could it be improved?
Fix my issues above! Too many things seem to be hardcoded and not customizable. I’d love to be able to put a pic as a background for the gift card as an example. Differentiate between a coupon and a gift card would be nice. Fix the send to multiple recipients bug. Let me do more with what is put in the email so I can customize it better.

What is great about this product?
Smart Coupons is great for two reasons; First, if you need support their team is very responsive as well as timely. This is important to me because we are constantly running campaigns on the fly and when an issue crops up, I need to resolve it without delaying the campaign timing. The second reason is that the app is very flexible in allowing me to tailor our coupons to the type of customer we want to motivate with a purchase.
How could it be improved?
I would like to see an option added where I can create a coupon code that will let me discount the price of a product SKU down to a specific price regardless of what retail price is currently being sold for.
This will allow me to market to a large group of customers for the same fixed price, without creating a different coupon amount for each SKU.

Great plugin for anyone that needs coupons and discount codes for their web store. Not to forget great support too.
How could it be improved?
An easier way to find out where a coupon was used for. A dedicated redeem page where entering a coupon code allows customers to easily redeem a virtual/downloadable product and have it added to their account without going through the checkout page. This way you can sell your virtual/downloadable products through resellers by providing them with redeem (coupon) codes. The customers of the resellers can then redeem the product on a redeem page on your website and get access to the product.

It works well and I know I have not used it to its extent yet. I started using it when another coupon app from WooCommerce has a technical issue. They were wonderful and provided me this plugin, as it was going to take some time to fix the other simpler coupon plugin. I stuck with it, as it is doing what I need and more! I plan to start selling gift certificates in the near future with this plugin.

Our pre-sales decision was based on the functionality bandwidth offered by this plugin in addition to the rave reviews this product has garnered. Post-sales, we have been pleasantly surprised by the extent of customer service and how they've been always there solving our issues such that this plugin helps us take quick and better business decisions. We would like to send out a shout-out particularly to Mr. Ratnakar Dubey and his team at StoreApps who have replied to every query and helped us configure this plugin to help create offers such as free sample trials on our website.
How could it be improved?
Here are certain things that we feel would greatly enhance the shopper experience:
1. Function to modify text or edit with use of fonts and font styling to create impact
2. Presence of image or thumbnails of products or similar in the coupon itself to make the coupon resonate with the audience and facilitate impulse buying behaviour
3. If Smart Coupons can have the option to appear as Pop-ups on the cart page, to help upsells or shoppers take advantage of better suggestions or offers.

Smart Coupons functionality is far ahead of the standard coupon functionality of WooCommerce. They regularly update their plugin and listen carefully to customer feedback. I had a suggestion for a new feature which they implemented in short time with excellent code quality and communication. The support team answered all of my support requests very timely and left no questions open. I'm very satisfied with Smart Coupons and can recommend it to anyone looking for more than standard coupon handling in WooCommerce.

Smart Coupons works like a charm and does what it says. We chose it because we needed to import existing gift card codes into our new shop. No hiccups there, everything worked great. If possible to add a ‘restrict by attribute’ restriction. There are other third party plugins which I could work in to do so, but fewer the bloat the better, so using workarounds for the time being.

Is this app perfect? Is any app perfect? No, but this app incorporates more features than any other coupon app we have found, and we are finding clever marketing uses for them. Having the ability to attach a product to a coupon code has endless possibilities. And offering discount codes that can include or exclude shipping is brilliant. What really gets the 5-star rating is the customer support! Customer support is outstanding. These guys really understand the app, and understand an issue you describe. Support is accurate, relevant and prompt. Please don't change this and I will be a customer for many years.
How could it be improved?
Allow for easier customization of emails sent from app to customer. Easier customization of, or more options for smart coupon design. Still a 5-star app though!

I haven't discovered all the features yet but what I've used I find great and already see people using the 'new customer' coupon. I've had contact with the maker of this plugin and must say that his help was perfect and quick. I definitely recommend giving the smart coupons a try!

I told the maker of the plugin what I thought could be improved and he did that right away. So right now, I don’t have other ideas what could be improved.

Smart Coupons does exactly what I need it to. Highly recommended. My theme had a conflict with coupon colors, and support was very fast and helpful in solving the problem for me.

Make sure coupons background color and text color css doesn’t clash with theme color settings.

What is great about this product?
Purchased this to offer gift certificates, but find the ease of other uses make it a keeper. I am giving customers $1 credit for each product review and a $5 credit for finding errors and problems. This plugin allows me to add a username to the credit and allow them to use it only once and specify that they can use it along with a weekly sale coupon. I also give every new customer a 10% discount but don't allow it to be used with any other coupon. Not only was all this super easy for me to setup and maintain, but this is easier than promo code for users because all they have to do it click on the coupon.
How could it be improved?
I would like to change the text ‘click on a coupon to apply’ to something like ‘click on a coupon to apply to type the promo code on the coupon into the promo code field’. This is because sometimes clicking on a coupon doesn’t work (maybe because of browser cache issues) and while they can type in the promo code on the coupon to apply it, the text doesn’t let the customer know this is possible.

Very flexible. Can be tricky because you can add coupons and store credits in so many ways, but their support is very responsive and will walk you through an questions. I would ask for more documentation, but that's only because we use Smart Coupons for very specific uses. When we wanted to make sure we were setting the coupon up right, they replied to us within a day and got the answers we needed.

More documentation about specific coupon needs, based on user questions.

Works very well adding specific features and parameters to coupons in WooCommerce. We use the feature that lets you send out a coupon with a specific product order all the time, and just set up a Gift Certificate product, which was really easy! Support is great and quick. Very happy with our purchase!
How could it be improved?
Perhaps a little more customization on the coupons themselves would be nice so that we have more control over the look if it. The latest version is definitely a step in that direction but having more thorough customization (for those that want it) would be great!

This is a powerful tool! I put it to use right away and haven't even scratched the surface of its potential. Wonderful support! I had a CSS issue with the gift certificate on the checkout page and Mansi responded to my support request and solved the problem quickly. I weighed the pros and cons of several different products before choosing this one. I'm glad I did.
