    What is great about this product?

    Pro-Rated Payments. If a customer starts on the 15th on the month, they will only pay half the month and money can come out on the 1st of the month. Really good for Gyms who want all their payments on the first of every month. Also gives users control to pause payments.

    How could it be improved?

    Little bit pricey, and the integration with other things costs a lot.

    What is great about this product?

    5 stars without question. Honestly confused by the two bad reviews here.

    How could it be improved?

    I’ve been using the subscription plugin for about 4 years and have only good things to say about it. I noticed there were only 3 reviews here so I thought I’d take a moment to read them. I’m baffled by the 1 and 3 star review. I can’t vouch for the 5 star review because it wasn’t super detailed, but I’m glad it worked out for that person.

    My experience with this plugin over the last 4 years has been nothing but good…not just with the plugin itself but with the people behind the plugin.

    I actually started using it with a pirated version to start and did a few dumb things that screwed up my database. The people behind the plugin helped me get back up and running and I was happy to buy it at full price.

    With all of the things that can go wrong with a website, it’s nice to be able to know that subscriptions isn’t something I have to worry about. I’ve had many clients use and love this plugin with no complaints.

    The only issue I ever had with it was during the mini chaos that ensued after WooCommerce’s update to 3.0. There was a temporary problem that some people got (I was one of the unlucky) that resulted because I updated WooCommerce before updating the plugin. Normally that would be okay, but in this instance it was a problem. But they quickly fixed the issue and I was back up and running in no time.

    Other than that very small glitch over the 4 years I’ve used it, it’s been perfect and is one of the reasons I love and rely on WooCommerce for myself and my clients.

    These guys know their stuff and have been constantly improving and innovating on an already phenomenal product. I sometimes wish I could offer more complex subscriptions just to utilize all the options that are available.

    I’m not understanding the issue stated by the guy that gave one star…hopefully he can get whatever his problem is resolved, but none of my clients that do subscriptions with shipping have had any issues with coupons. The 4 additional coupon options are very helpful.

    As for the 3 star guy, I’d say drop PayPal. I know they are making some changes with BrainTree and I need to try that out, but PayPal has always had issues with subscriptions, changing subscriptions, etc. From what I read, the problem wasn’t with Subscriptions Plugin, but with PayPal and also him just not wanting to pay for a service that it sounds like he needs (i.e. Stamps.com).

    When I started making sitesI tried doing everything for free or super cheap (i.e. my pirated version of Subscriptions), but I found out that it’s worth doing things the right way. The expense that is incurred by using the correct tools in the correct way is much less than the cost in both time and money of trying to do it without the right tools/etc.

    Anyway, not even sure if anyone will read this, but I thought I’d try to provide some balance to the reviews here. I think most people that use this plugin just use it and love it and don’t have any reason to come back to the review page. If anything, it kind of says something that only 2 people came here to complain with how many successful installs there are out there that are helping people build their online businesses.

    I’ve been impressed with the innovation and improvements that the people behind this have put into this plugin and I look forward to continued improvement as time goes on.

    What didn't you like about this product?

    This product worked great for about a year, then it stopped working. It's been a nightmare ever since to try to get someone to help fix this. The customer service is terrible. We got some responses via e-mail. . . we literally exchanged over 50 e-mails and couldn't get anyone to even remotely get close to fixing it. It has not worked for us for years now. We have just now tried to cancel all subscription related applications. Our bad for letting it go so long and letting them take our money using auto renewal. We have just gotten so used to processing subscriptions manually now, this fell off our radar. The app shows "Live" and active on the site but it has yet to work or process subscriptions correctly for years now. Extremely bad experience with this product and all "subscription" related products.

    How could it be improved?

    I have absolutely no idea and apparently neither does Woocommerce.

    What do you think about this product?

    I've been using woocommerce subscriptions for over three years, and several hundred thousand from my customers. I think it's easy to use, but get's a bit more complicated when trying to code custom integrations that trigger based off of specific subscriptions etc. However, if you're just trying to bill your customers on a recurring basis, it's excellent. Super easy integration with woocommerce memberships, and lots of other plugins. I've contact customer support on a number of occasions, and they've been very helpful.

    How could it be improved?

    Personally, I would like the admin controls for setting up and starting subscriptions to be a little bit more straightforward. If you have your customers payment information, it is possible to start a subscription for them, but takes too many steps.

    What didn't you like about this product?

    I've had this plugin for 15 months and still not put it live. Every now and again I come back to it and take the implementation a bit further and realise it is so limited I have to buy yet another add-on to make it usable. Necessary things it can’t do include (1) letting customers have the option to buy outright or have a subscription based on the same inventory. Pretty basic stuff, but you need to buy another plugin for that, (2) Pre payment emails to warn customers a payment is about to be taken, giving them the chance to cancel or add to it. It’s unthinkable to take payment without warning, so this is a serious omission, not just for physical goods stores. This is the one that has led me to put our subscriptions project on ice. You can buy other plugins to fill the gaps, but they all increase the cost. So this is NOT an out of the box solution. Setting up a subscriptions function is a big commitment that we have to keep going... unlike many plugins, there's no going back without annoying customers and probably losing their business. So I'm also concerned about risking that something with so many interdependencies goes wrong in a year's time.

    How could it be improved?

    Build in an integrated choice for customers between one-off and subscription purchases, where the inventory is shared. Pre-renewal emails.

    What didn't you like about this product?

    Literally, the WORST customer service I ever experienced. They take FOREVER to answer, I bought this product a few weeks ago and still didn't solve any of the issues I had. You can't call them, only via email and you will get an answer every 24h if you are lucky...It's ridiculous!

    Hire a better customer service company

    What is great about this product?

    The product has already saved our business. Allowing our customers to pay monthly instead of buying tickets has been amazing. It was extremely simple to setup and we haven't had any issues. We even migrated our website to a new location.

    What is great about this product?

    I like the subscriptions extension. After initial installation, and set up, we ran into some issues, and contacted support. Sarah, Nick, Zach and Bernat from the support team did a great job investigating, they even took the time logging onto our own site to test, and eventually we realized that the issues were caused by our own plugin, and my lack of understanding of the product. I highly recommend this product, and the team behind it.

    I had an issue that turned out to be a problem with two separate caching plugins. The customer service reps at prospress were wonderful and helped me figure out the issues. I would certainly recommend this plugin especially now knowing how good they are with service.

    Excellent product and support

    How could it be improved?

    This extension has worked great for my store. Does everything we need it to.

    Support: I ran into a problem when migrating the site and changing the database prefix (protip: don’t do that) and some subscriptions didn’t carry over correctly. Brent from Prospress was great and told me exactly what I needed to do to fix it. Recommend for anyone that handles WooCommerce subscriptions!

    Subscriptions is integrated nicely into WooCommerce to be very flexible for any need we have had. Additionally, their support has been priceless; this plug-in is easily worth it's cost!

    Good plugin. We use some 3rd party integrations like Stripe and Quaderno. The integration is easy and works well. The support is also fast (live chat) and really tries to help.

    What is great about this product?

    We've been using this plugin for two years, and recently had a very strange (hard to track down) issue affecting a handful of subscriptions. After a deep-dive with support, we were able to figure out the root cause (it was due to how we were manually processing some renewals and how our payment provider was treating those) and recover the subscriptions that were affected. When I say deep dive, I mean 18 emails back-and-forth between us and SkyVerge support. They were very knowledgeable throughout the support process and didn't stop until we found and corrected the issue. After it was all said and done, we received a full write-up of how the issue occurred and how it could be remediated in the future. The write-up was certainly above and beyond, but also a life saver. Thank you to Steve and Willington for persevering and getting our subscriptions back on track.

    This worked great for a while, and now it doesn't, leaving my subscription income in limbo with no notification. And seriously $199 per year for this. Total garbage.

    What is great about this product?

    The customer support is great! I had issues setting up and I emailed the customer support which only took 1-2 days for us to correspond and resolve my problem. Really thankful for the prompt reply and willingness to address my issue.

    How could it be improved?

    More extensive documentation. The auto renewal part is a bit complex to understand and set up. I guess I will just have to email support for more help.

    What do you think about this product?

    Good Plugin, but a lot of necessary Functions are missing. I've set it up and let it run for a year. After that some of my Users complained, that their Subscription expired and didn't get renewed. The Support was great and found the Problem, that I had a expiry set and renewals only work, when there are no expires set. This should not only be explained in the Docs, but explicitly added as a field like "renewable Subscriptions" on the Product Setup Page and if you tick it, the Expire Field should dissapear. After I and the Support found out the Problem, I fixed my DB by writing new queries. The Woo Support didn't want to help in that and only told me to go to a agency. Sorry but for such a expensive Plugin this should atleast be considered to be passed to a Dev, to get a fix out for future Customers. Not everyone has the same 6 years DB Admin Knowledge like me... The Second is, that Subscriptions are getting uneditable after a week. You NEED to go to the DB and change the Subscriptions Details in Postmeta Table. That's some bad practice in my opinion! And even if you fix the DB, there is no way you can reschedule the Action Scheduler on the Frontend. You need to go back again in the DB and edit the Action Scheduler Table. Also when you're setting up your subscription Shop, you need to relay at the beginning heavy on the Docs and there are a lot. Even if you miss a small step, you could screw up hard. The positive is, that the Docs are really well written and that Team should get a reward! And last, sorry but for such a Plugin there should be Bulk Actions already developed and not posted on User Voice. That's a high priority for me as a Dev and would benefit the Customers. One of the bad reviews mentioned, that you need to get extensions for couple of other Functions. In my opinion that's fair. Nothing comes for free and they put a lot of work into their Code.

    How could it be improved?

    Add Bulk Actions like “regenerate/recalculate Subscriptions”, “Update all Subscription Prices with…”, “regenerate Action Scheduler Tasks” if a Admin changes something in the DB.

    Add a option to switch a Subscription from Expire to Renewal.

    2 things I’m missing: A proper german translation (some customer-facing text is still in english) and the possibility to configure subscription add-ons. For example a base subscription for a cloud service, with additional users as an add-on.
