Store availability rules set shared opening hours, seasonal schedules, and closures for all bookable products in your store. Use product or resource availability for a schedule that applies only to one service, staff member, or piece of equipment.
Before you start, activate WooCommerce Bookings and sign in with permission to manage Bookings settings. Decide which hours should be available and which dates should be closed. Store rules work with each product’s default availability and any product or resource rules.
Create a store availability rule
↑ Back to top- Go to Bookings > Settings > Store Availability.
- Select Add Range.
- Choose a Range type and enter its dates, days, or times. Use the options below to choose the rule’s scope.
- Set Bookable to Yes to allow bookings in the range, or No to block them.
- Enter a descriptive Title, such as Daily opening hours or Maintenance closure, to identify the rule.
- Set Priority. A lower number overrides a higher number when rules conflict. For example, a closure at priority 1 overrides opening hours at priority 10.
- Select Save Changes. Reopen the settings to confirm the rule was saved, then check a product’s booking form.
| Range type | When to use it |
|---|---|
| Specific Dates (All day) | A date range, including both the start and end dates, such as a maintenance closure. |
| Specific Months (All day), Specific Weeks (All day), or Specific Days (All day) | Whole months, week numbers, or days of the week. |
| Specific Dates (Set time) | A continuous period from a start date and time to an end date and time. |
| Every day (Set time) | The same time range every day. |
| Every day within specific dates (Set time) | A daily time range that repeats only within the selected dates. |
| Every Monday (Set time) through Every Sunday (Set time) | A time range that repeats on a particular weekday. Add separate rules when weekdays have different hours. |
To remove a rule, select its × control on the right, then select Save Changes. Past date-specific rules are hidden from the list.
Resolve overlapping rules
↑ Back to topPriority numbers are compared across store, product, and resource rules. When numbers match, store rules override product rules, and product rules override resource rules. Within the same level and priority, the rule nearer the top of the list wins. Use the handle on the left to reorder store rules, then save.
Moving a closure to the top doesn’t make it override a rule with a lower priority number. Check the numbers as well as the row order. See Understanding How Priority Affects Availability Rules for examples across all three levels.
Example: daily opening hours and a closure
↑ Back to topA wildlife hide offers one-hour sessions from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. every day and closes for maintenance from November 2 through November 4, 2026. The last session starts at 4 p.m. so it ends at closing time. Substitute your own hours and future closure dates.
- For each product that should open only during these hours, go to Product data > Availability, set All dates are… to not-available by default, and save the product. A bookable time rule opens its range; it doesn’t close the hours outside that range when the product is available by default.
- In Store Availability, add an Every day (Set time) rule from 09:00 AM to 05:00 PM. Set Bookable to Yes, Title to Daily opening hours, and Priority to 10.
- Add a Specific Dates (All day) rule from 2026-11-02 to 2026-11-04. Set Bookable to No, Title to Maintenance closure, and Priority to 1.
- Check that no conflicting product or resource rule has a lower priority number than the closure. Select Save Changes.

Check the booking form
↑ Back to topOpen a one-hour product’s booking form and check an open date before the closure, a date during it, and an open date after it. For the example above, November 1 and November 5 should offer starts from 9 a.m. through 4 p.m., with none outside those hours. November 2–4 should have no available sessions, provided those dates are within the product’s booking window and capacity is available on the open dates.
If the result differs, confirm that the rules and product were saved. Check the product’s All dates are… default, booking duration, minimum and maximum booking dates, and any resource or product rules. A higher-priority opening rule can override a closure; existing bookings or resource limits can remove otherwise available sessions. For the product controls, see Bookings Availability Settings.
Note:
Note that every possible time block, as defined within each bookable product, must be designated as either bookable or not.
The product’s default availability supplies the starting state for blocks without a matching rule. You don’t need to add a separate rule for every block.
