WooCommerce Reports are legacy tools.
With the release of WooCommerce 4.0 in March 2020, these reports were deprecated and no longer receive updates.
For detailed, accurate sales data including filters, segments, CSV exports, and dashboards, use the Analytics section available in WordPress 5.3 and later at WooCommerce > Analytics. (descriptive link text describing the destination) in the WooCommerce Analytics documentation.
WooCommerce includes a set of legacy reports that display your store’s performance using graphs and summary statistics. The reports are organized into four sections: Orders, Customers, Stock, and Taxes. This document describes each section and explains how to view and export report data.
To view these legacy reports, go to WooCommerce > Reports.
Orders
↑ Back to topThe Orders section displays gross and net sales volume and totals, along with top sellers, top freebies, top earners, and product downloads. It contains the following subsections: Sales by date, Sales by product, Sales by category, Coupons by date, and Customer downloads.

Note: By default, orders with a status of Processing, On Hold, or Completed count as sales.
Sales by date
↑ Back to topThe Sales by date subsection is the default view on the Orders tab. It shows your store’s current sales performance through a graph and several date-range filters: year, last month, this month, last 7 days, and a custom date range.
The sales graph plots the following data on color-coded lines:
- Gross sales in light blue
- Net sales in dark blue
- Shipping amounts in green
- Refunds in red
- Coupon values redeemed in orange
Hover over any point on the graph to see the exact figure for that date.

Sales by product
↑ Back to topThe Sales by product report shows daily sales for one or more specific products within a given date range. Use the Product search field to add multiple products, or select a product from the Top sellers, Top freebies, or Top earners lists.

After selecting a product, you can filter the data by the last year, last month, this month, last 7 days, or a custom date range.

Sales by category
↑ Back to topThe Sales by category report displays sales data grouped by product category. Select the categories you want to include, or choose All to include every product category. Then select Show to generate the report.

Coupons by date
↑ Back to topThe Coupons by date report shows the total amount discounted and the number of coupons used over a selected time period. You can filter data by a specific coupon, view the most popular coupons, and see which coupons provide the largest discounts.

Customer downloads
↑ Back to topThe Customer downloads subsection tracks and logs downloadable file activity. Each download has a unique ID, and WooCommerce records when a file was downloaded, which product the file belongs to, the file name, the associated order, and the customer’s IP address.
You can filter the download list by hovering over Product, Order, User, or IP address and selecting a value. Remove an applied filter by selecting the red x next to the filter name.

Customers
↑ Back to topThe Customers tab compares the number of orders placed by registered customers versus guests. You can filter the data by year, last month, this month, last 7 days, or a custom date range.
The Customer List option displays a table of all registered customers. The table includes the following columns:
- Name (Last, First)
- Username
- Location
- Number of orders
- Money spent
- Last order (order number and date)
- Actions
Stock
↑ Back to topThe Stock tab includes reports for products that are Low in stock, Out of stock, and Most stocked. The reports in this section cannot be exported to CSV.

Taxes
↑ Back to topThe Taxes tab includes two reports: Taxes by code (organized by tax rate or state) and Taxes by date. You can filter the data by the last year, last month, this month, or a custom date range.

Export to CSV
↑ Back to topMost reports support exporting data to a CSV file. Stock reports and the Customer List cannot be exported.
To export a report:
- Navigate to the report you want to export.
- Select Export CSV.
- Save or open the downloaded file.

The Export CSV button is hidden in browsers that do not support the download attribute.
Frequently asked questions
↑ Back to topThe following questions address common issues with legacy reports.
Reset report data
↑ Back to topLegacy report data can only be reset by deleting prior orders, customers, and other relevant data. This approach is not recommended because the deletions are permanent. If you delete order data, clear your browser cache to see the updated reports. For a safer alternative, use the WooCommerce Analytics section, which supports resetting data and importing historical records.
Add columns to a report
↑ Back to topThe legacy reports display only the columns and categories shown by default. Adding a different or additional column requires custom code or a third-party extension.
