This extension provides your checkout with a field to collect and validate a customer’s EU VAT number if they have one. Upon entering a valid VAT number, the business will not be charged VAT in your store.

The validation function uses the VIES VAT number validation API from the European Commission.
Customers located outside the EU will not see any VAT fields as they are out of scope for EU VAT.

Due to recent HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) VAT API changes, this extension can no longer validate UK VAT numbers. HMRC now requires each merchant to register an API key, which this extension does not currently support.
