We’re actively working on adding more carriers to WooCommerce Shipping. Looking for a specific carrier? Let us know.
WooCommerce Shipping is a free label printing and fulfillment extension for WooCommerce. It lets you buy and print USPS, UPS, and DHL Express shipping labels directly from your WooCommerce dashboard, using Woo's own carrier accounts so you get discounted commercial rates without setting up separate accounts with each carrier. You can compare live label rates across carriers, print labels, generate tracking numbers automatically, and manage fulfillment in one place.
WooCommerce Shipping is free to install, with no markup, no monthly fees, and no hidden costs. You pay only for the labels you buy, and you automatically get discounted commercial rates on supported carriers. For the current details, see the pricing information on the WooCommerce Shipping product page.
No. WooCommerce Shipping is built for buying and printing discounted labels during fulfillment, not for displaying live carrier rates at checkout. If you want customers to see real-time rates while they shop, pair your store with the USPS Shipping Method and UPS Shipping Method extensions. Many stores use WooCommerce Shipping for fulfillment alongside a rates-at-checkout extension.
Yes. WooCommerce Shipping gives you access to discounted commercial rates through Woo's carrier accounts, with savings of up to 90% off retail USPS rates and heavily discounted DHL rates. These discounts apply automatically when you buy labels, so you do not need to negotiate your own carrier contracts to benefit. Lower label costs can help protect your margins, especially if you ship frequently.
WooCommerce Shipping supports printing labels for USPS, UPS, and DHL Express directly from your dashboard. Select FedEx services are also being added. You can compare rates across carriers when creating a shipment and choose the option that works best for each order. If you want to display live carrier rates to customers at checkout, that is handled by separate extensions rather than WooCommerce Shipping.
No. WooCommerce Shipping uses Woo's carrier accounts to share discounted label rates, so you do not need to create or connect individual carrier accounts. To start printing labels, you connect your WordPress.com account (used to manage payment and the connection to Woo's servers), add and validate your origin address, and accept the carrier's terms when you buy your first label.
No. You can print labels on standard 8.5" x 11" paper with any printer and attach them to your package. If you use a thermal printer, you can print on 4" x 6" labels instead. Both sizes are accepted by the carriers, so you can choose whichever fits your current setup.
Yes. You can print USPS labels for US domestic destinations, and USPS and DHL Express labels for international destinations. Shipments need to originate from the US. When a customs form is required, WooCommerce Shipping prompts you for the details and prints the necessary customs documents, and for DHL Paperless Trade destinations it submits customs information electronically so you only print the label.
Yes. Because it is built into WooCommerce, you can create labels straight from an order without copying and pasting details into separate fulfillment software or logging into individual carrier sites. Tracking numbers are generated and saved to the order automatically, you can mark orders complete and notify customers as you buy labels, and you can schedule carrier pickups so you skip the trip to the post office. These tools are designed to streamline day-to-day fulfillment.
Yes. WooCommerce Shipping includes a split shipments feature, so you can move items into separate packages and send them as they are ready. This is useful when part of an order is in stock and the rest ships later, or when items need different packaging or carriers.
Yes. When you buy a label through WooCommerce Shipping, a tracking number is generated and saved to the order automatically. You can view the tracking number and link on the order, and if you mark the order complete, that tracking information can be sent to your customer in the order email.
Yes. The WooCommerce mobile app supports purchasing and printing shipping labels for stores that have WooCommerce Shipping installed. You can select an order, confirm addresses and package details, choose a carrier and rate, buy the label, and print it from your device, which is handy when you fulfill orders away from your desk.
Yes. WooCommerce Shipping supports USPS SCAN Forms, which combine a group of USPS labels under a single master barcode. Instead of having each package scanned individually, you hand your carrier one form, they scan the single barcode, and all linked packages are accepted at once. SCAN Forms are free to create and are especially helpful if you ship many USPS packages per day.
Yes. WooCommerce Shipping lets you set a default return address and print return labels, and you can print packing slips that include the order number, shipment number, addresses, and item list. These tools help you handle returns and include the right paperwork in each package.
In many cases, yes. You can request a refund for labels that have not yet entered the carrier network (still in pre-transit), and requests must be made within 30 days of creating the label. Refunds can take from about 14 to 45 days to process while the carrier confirms the label was not used. Some label types, such as USPS First Class Mail letters, are not eligible for refund.
WooCommerce Shipping is a strong fit for US-based stores that fulfill their own orders and want discounted USPS, UPS, and DHL labels without managing separate carrier accounts. It suits merchants who want to print labels, generate tracking, schedule pickups, and manage fulfillment directly inside WooCommerce. If you want to plan your wider shipping approach first, this guide to setting up your WooCommerce shipping strategy is a helpful starting point.
WooCommerce Shipping is designed for shipments that originate from the US, so it may not be the right fit if you ship from another country. If you are based outside the US, multi-carrier platforms like ShipStation and Shippo offer label printing for a wider range of carriers and regions. It is also not the tool for showing live rates at checkout, which the USPS Shipping Method and UPS Shipping Method extensions handle.
For US-based stores, WooCommerce Shipping is a free, built-in option for printing discounted USPS, UPS, and DHL labels directly from your dashboard. Because it uses Woo's carrier accounts, you get commercial rates without setting up your own carrier contracts, and everything stays connected to your orders. Stores that ship internationally from outside the US or want to manage multiple sales channels may prefer a multi-carrier platform such as ShipStation or Shippo.
They solve different parts of shipping. WooCommerce Shipping is a free fulfillment tool for buying and printing discounted labels after an order comes in. The USPS Shipping Method and UPS Shipping Method extensions pull live rates from the carrier and display them to customers at checkout. Many stores use them together: live rates at checkout, then WooCommerce Shipping to fulfill and print the label.
