With push notifications in the Woo Mobile App, you can manage your online store more efficiently and make timely decisions that keep your business running smoothly and your customers happy.
These notifications are sent directly to your mobile device, enabling you to promptly process and fulfill orders, respond to customer feedback, reduce delays, and prevent potential errors.
How to set up push notifications
↑ Back to topStarting with WooCommerce 10.9 and Woo Mobile App version 24.9, the app can set up push notifications directly โ no extra plugins are needed.
- Update WooCommerce to version 10.9 or later.
- Update the Woo Mobile App to version 24.9 or later.
- Open the app and look for the “Never miss a new order” card on your My Store dashboard. You can also find “Enable push notifications” in Menu โ Settings.
- Tap to set up and follow the prompts. The app will connect your store and enable notifications. You’ll need a free WordPress.com account if you don’t already have one.
- Enable notifications on your device โ see device notification settings below.
Note: If you don’t see the dashboard card or the Settings option, your store may already be set up. Go to Menu โ Settings โ if you see Notifications listed, you’re all set.
WooCommerce 10.8 or earlier
↑ Back to topIf your store is running WooCommerce 10.8 or earlier, push notifications require the Jetpack plugin.
- Enable store notifications โ ensure store notifications via email are set up correctly in your WP Admin dashboard.
- Connect your store to Jetpack โ follow our Jetpack setup instructions.
- Enable notifications on your device โ see below.
Enable notifications on your mobile device
↑ Back to topWhen you install the Woo Mobile App for the first time, your device will automatically prompt you to allow notifications.
We recommend selecting Allow so the app can send you notifications for new orders, reviews, and store activity.

If you accidentally dismissed this prompt, you can enable notifications again using the methods below.
On Android
In the Woo Mobile App, navigate to Menu > Settings > Manage Notifications and ensure that the All WooCommerce notifications option is toggled on.

On iOS
In the Woo Mobile App, navigate to Menu > Settings > Notification Settings and tap on “Enable Notifications.“

In the settings screen that opens, toggle the Allow Notifications option.

Notification types and preferences
↑ Back to topStarting with WooCommerce 10.9 and Woo Mobile App 24.9, you can customize which push notifications you receive and set thresholds to reduce noise.
To access notification preferences: Menu โ Settings โ Notifications.
Note: This feature is available for stores that have completed push notification setup through the app. It’s being rolled out gradually and is not yet available for all stores.
New orders
↑ Back to topGet notified when a new order is placed. You can choose between:
- All new orders โ every new order triggers a notification (default).
- Only high-value orders โ set a minimum order amount. Only orders at or above that amount trigger a notification. For example, $500 means you’ll only be notified about orders of $500 or more.
To configure: Tap New orders on the Notification preferences screen.
Stock
↑ Back to topGet notified about inventory changes for products with stock management enabled. Toggle three event types independently:
- Low stock โ Notifies you when a product’s stock quantity drops to or below the store-wide low-stock threshold. The app displays your current threshold value (for example, “store-wide threshold of 2”). Tap Edit store-wide threshold to open your store’s inventory settings in WooCommerce (WooCommerce โ Settings โ Products โ Inventory), where you can change this value. Individual products can also set their own threshold, which overrides the store-wide default.
- Out of stock โ product stock reaches zero. Enabled by default.
- On backorder โ an order triggers a backorder. Disabled by default.
Note: The low stock threshold is set in your WooCommerce store under WooCommerce โ Settings โ Products โ Inventory โ Low stock threshold. This is the same threshold used for low stock email notifications. Changing it affects both.
To configure: Tap Stock on the Notification preferences screen.
New reviews
↑ Back to topGet notified when a customer leaves a review. You can choose between:
- All new reviews โ every approved review triggers a notification (default).
- Only low-rated reviews โ set a maximum star rating. Only reviews at or below that rating trigger a notification. For example, 3 stars means you’ll only hear about 1โ3 star reviews.
To configure: Tap New reviews on the Notification preferences screen.
Troubleshooting
↑ Back to topNot receiving notifications?
↑ Back to topStart with these checks:
- Confirm push notifications are enabled on your device โ see Enable notifications on your mobile device above.
- Check that notification types are toggled on โ go to Menu โ Settings โ Notifications in the app and verify the types you expect (new orders, stock, reviews) are enabled.
- For WooCommerce 10.9+ stores: Make sure the in-app setup completed successfully. If you don’t see the Notifications screen in Settings, the setup may not have finished. Look for the “Never miss a new order” card on your dashboard or “Enable push notifications” in Menu โ Settings and tap to complete it.
- For stores using Jetpack: Ensure that the Jetpack connection is active. Review common issues or reconnect your site.
Check the app logs
